Position Overview
This Senior Pipeline Engineer role performs engineering for onshore and offshore pipeline systems, conducting conceptual, FEED, studies, and detailed analyses per design codes and standards. You will prepare detailed design calculations, reports, and procedures, identify scope changes and raise notifications, assist with bid proposal estimates, provide technical direction to Designers, support procurement and vendor submittal reviews, participate in technical audits, and guide less experienced engineers on discipline procedures and standards.

Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Design & Analysis
- Perform engineering for onshore and offshore pipeline systems with hands-on discipline software expertise
- Perform conceptual, FEED, studies, and detailed analyses and design per design basis and codes
- Prepare detailed design calculations, design reports, and procedures within agreed deadlines
Technical Coordination & Scope Management
- Be fully familiar with project scope, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements
- Identify scope changes and promptly raise change notifications and Variation Order support
- Raise technical queries to obtain missing information and clarify work scope
Deliverables, Bids & Procurement Support
- Assist in preparing estimates for bid proposals, technical query reviews, and manhour estimates
- Prepare discipline engineering design basis, philosophies, and technical specifications
- Assist procurement personnel with requisitions, technical quotation evaluation, and bid tabulations
- Review vendor and subcontractor submittals for compliance with project specifications
Quality, Mentorship & Reporting
- Perform design verification through single-discipline and inter-discipline checks
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience, guiding them on procedures and standards
- Participate in internal, customer, and third-party technical audits
- Keep the Lead Engineer apprised of technical, budgetary, and manpower-related activities
Specialized Pipeline Engineering Deliverables
- Prepare material specifications, fabrication/installation specifications, and material takeoffs
- Perform wall thickness design, on-bottom stability, cathodic protection, and free-span analyses
- Conduct pipeline expansion and riser stress analyses using finite element analysis (FEA) tools
- Support route selection, crossing support, subsea structure, and shore approach designs
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
Experience Requirements
- 8-15 years of experience in Oil and Gas with a major contractor or consultant, predominantly in detail design
- Preferably a Registered Professional Engineer or member of a professional engineering society
Technical Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of design techniques, analysis methods, and applicable codes and standards
- Seasoned knowledge of engineering standards and specifications
- Good knowledge of engineering software used in pipeline design
Essential Skills
- Ability to work independently with good organizational, motivational, and supervisory skills
- Good working knowledge of English, both oral and written
- HSE, TQM, and cost-conscious mindset
