Position Overview
The Senior Supply Chain Implementation Consultant at OMP in Cologne equips customers with supply chain planning solutions from initial analysis through to go-live — analyzing planning challenges, contributing to solution design, implementing and validating the solution and ensuring a smooth transition to operational use. Working in close collaboration with solution architects and customer project teams, this professional finds clever planning solutions, implements them end-to-end, provides ongoing expertise, trains customers on solution use and documents implementations through technical descriptions and functional notes. Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Solution Design & Implementation
- Find clever supply chain planning solutions in close collaboration with OMP’s solution architects — ensuring an impeccable, high-quality implementation outcome for every customer project from the very first planning workshop to final go-live.
- Implement the supply chain planning solution from start to finish together with the customer’s project team — taking full ownership of the implementation quality, timeline and successful adoption of OMP’s software at the customer site.
- Analyze complex supply chain planning challenges within customer environments — applying strong analytical skills to translate complex operational problems into concrete, actionable and technically sound planning solution designs.
- Provide specialized supply chain planning expertise during and after implementation — supporting customers through the full project life cycle, including go-live support, stabilization and post-implementation optimization activities.
Customer Training, Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
- Train customers comprehensively on OMP’s supply chain planning solution — enabling customer teams to leverage the full capabilities of their new planning system confidently, independently and effectively from day one of live operation.
- Document all implemented supply chain planning solutions thoroughly — providing clear technical descriptions for fellow OMP consultants and accessible functional notes for customer stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Visit customers regularly (approximately 20% of working time) to support on-site implementation activities, conduct training sessions and provide expert guidance — remaining rooted in OMP’s Cologne expert team for the majority of the working week.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Learning
- Collaborate closely with OMP solution architects, fellow consultants, project managers and customer project teams — applying a friendly, open and team-oriented approach to delivering complex, multinational supply chain implementation projects.

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Master’s degree in Engineering (Business, Civil or Industrial), Applied Sciences or a relevant related discipline — relevant study domains include Business Informatics, Supply Chain/Logistics/Production, Chemical Engineering, Operations Research, Econometrics, Mathematics or ICT.
