Position Overview
The Team Manager at Almarai’s KAEC Rabigh plant is a front-line production and quality leadership role responsible for managing a self-directing, multi-functional team in the manufacture and packaging of infant formula products. You will plan and execute plant run times against the master production schedule, direct labour resources, maintain regulatory and hygiene standards, manage health and safety compliance, facilitate problem-solving for production issues, and manage training and performance within your team. This is a role for a driven food technology or dairy professional with supervisory experience who wants to advance their career within the world’s largest integrated dairy company — in one of Saudi Arabia’s most strategically important food manufacturing locations at the King Abdullah Economic City.
Why This Role Matters: As Team Manager at Almarai KAEC, you are responsible for the quality, safety, and efficiency of infant formula production — one of the most heavily regulated and trust-sensitive product categories in the global food industry. You will lead a multi-functional production team that parents and caregivers rely on to deliver nutritionally precise, hygienically manufactured products for the youngest and most vulnerable consumers in Saudi Arabia and across the GCC, maintain the regulatory and quality standards that protect Almarai’s #1 FMCG brand reputation in MENA, drive continuous improvement in production efficiency that contributes to Almarai’s aggressive growth strategy, and build a high-performing team culture rooted in safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Production Team Management & Scheduling
- Work as an active part of the departmental management team — contributing to the achievement of business goals and developing and implementing strategies that drive plant performance
- Plan and execute plant run times to meet the master production schedule — ensuring infant formula manufacturing and packaging targets are achieved on time and in full
- Direct labour resources across production areas — ensuring correct manning levels are in place at all times to support planned production volumes and product changeovers
- Facilitate structured problem-solving sessions to identify root causes of production issues and implement practical, sustainable corrective actions that prevent recurrence
Quality, Regulatory & Hygiene Standards
- Ensure that all regulatory, quality, and hygiene standards are maintained within the department at all times — with particular rigour given the sensitive nature of infant formula production
- Ensure that all necessary quality documentation is completed accurately, completely, and on time — maintaining full audit-readiness across production records and quality control data
- Monitor production and quality performance indicators — identifying deviations from standard and initiating corrective measures before quality standards are compromised
- Support the implementation of food safety and quality management systems applicable to infant formula manufacturing under Almarai’s internal standards and Saudi food regulatory requirements
Health & Safety Compliance
- Assist with the management of departmental health and safety compliance — ensuring all team members follow safe working procedures and that the production environment meets H&S standards
- Support the implementation of corrective actions arising from health and safety reviews, near-miss reports, and internal or external H&S audits
- Promote a genuine safety-first culture within the production team — ensuring safety is not treated as a compliance checkbox but as a non-negotiable foundation of daily operations
Training, Performance & Team Development
- Manage training needs identification and delivery within your area of responsibility — ensuring all team members have the competencies required to perform their roles safely and effectively
- Manage staff performance through regular feedback, structured performance reviews, and targeted development planning — building a high-performing, engaged production team
- Lead, coach, and develop a self-directing, multi-functional team — creating an environment where team members take genuine ownership of quality, safety, and production efficiency
- Continuously improve team capability and operational performance — contributing to Almarai’s broader people development and talent management objectives at the KAEC facility
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dairy Technology, Food Technology, Food Science, or a closely related technical discipline — required for this quality and production management role at Almarai
- Additional postgraduate qualifications or certifications in quality management, food safety (HACCP, FSSC 22000), or production management are a professional advantage
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience at supervisory level — reporting to a Plant Manager in a food manufacturing, dairy, or FMCG production environment
- Experience operating fully automated food processing or packaging plants — including production scheduling, quality monitoring, and team coordination in a high-speed manufacturing environment
- Experience in infant formula, dairy, or technically regulated FMCG product manufacturing is highly advantageous and actively preferred for this role
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-functional production teams — including planning, people management, quality compliance, and continuous improvement simultaneously
Essential Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing quality and hygiene standards — including GMP principles applicable to infant formula or regulated dairy product production
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills — comfortable facilitating structured root cause analysis and driving practical corrective actions under production time pressure
- Strong leadership and team development skills — able to build, motivate, and direct a self-managing, multi-functional production team in a demanding manufacturing environment
- Solid health and safety awareness — understanding of H&S obligations in a food manufacturing facility and the ability to embed a genuine safety culture within the team
