Position Overview
This Warehouse Assistant role is an entry-level onsite position at Dover Imaging & Identification’s Oberlungwitz, Saxony facility. You will be responsible for processing incoming and outgoing orders and documentation, generating delivery and shipping documents accurately, liaising with internal and external transport companies and departments to ensure timely shipments, ensuring prompt and accurate declaration of permits and clearance of shipments, and investigating non-conformances to recommend appropriate corrective actions. Key Responsibilities
Inbound & Outbound Order Processing
- Process incoming and outgoing orders accurately following standard warehouse procedures
- Generate all necessary delivery and shipping documents for inbound and outbound shipments
- Maintain accurate records of all order transactions and documentation in warehouse systems
- Ensure all orders are processed completely and correctly before handover to transport partners
Transport Liaison & Shipment Coordination
- Liaise with internal departments and external transport companies for timely inbound shipments
- Coordinate outgoing shipments ensuring on-time dispatch and delivery to customers
- Communicate proactively with logistics partners to resolve scheduling or routing issues
- Track shipment status and escalate delays to relevant supervisors promptly
Permits, Declarations & Customs Clearance
- Ensure prompt and accurate declaration of all required permits for international shipments
- Support timely delivery and clearance of shipments through accurate documentation preparation
- Maintain compliance with applicable import and export documentation requirements
- Coordinate with customs brokers and compliance teams on permit and clearance matters
Non-Conformance Investigation & Corrective Action
- Investigate all non-conformances identified in warehouse and shipping operations
- Document non-conformance findings accurately for reporting and management review
- Recommend appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence of operational issues
- Action approved corrective measures promptly to restore standard warehouse procedures
General Warehouse Support Operations
- Perform routine warehouse tasks following established standard operating procedures
- Communicate information clearly to colleagues and supervisors requiring straightforward interpretation
- Work under close supervision while developing independence through on-the-job training
- Support warehouse team in maintaining organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Little to no prior warehouse, logistics, or related experience required for this Support 1 position
- Previous exposure to shipping documentation, order processing, or warehouse operations advantageous
- Willingness to learn and follow standard procedures within a structured supervised environment
