Position Overview
The Warehouse Assistant / Specialist in the UAE supports all daily warehouse activities — maintaining high standards of inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, safety, productivity, and service quality across the full warehouse operations cycle. At Assistant level, you will focus on goods receiving, unloading, inspection, put-away, storage, picking, packing, staging, dispatch, returns, stock transfers, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation. At Specialist level, responsibilities expand into WMS optimization, SKU slotting, warehouse performance management, capacity planning, productivity analysis, automation support, and continuous improvement initiatives — coordinating closely with Logistics, Transportation, Inventory Planning, Retail Operations, and E-commerce fulfillment teams across the UAE.

Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations — Receiving, Storage & Dispatch
- Support and coordinate all core warehouse activities — including goods receiving, unloading, inspection, put-away, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, staging, dispatch, returns, and stock transfers — ensuring all activities are performed accurately and in accordance with established warehouse procedures and service level agreements
- Ensure incoming goods are received against purchase orders, delivery notes, and system records — conducting quantity checks, quality inspections, and damage assessments before confirming goods receipt and initiating put-away in the WMS
- Execute picking and packing operations with high accuracy — following pick lists, scanning barcodes or RFID tags correctly, verifying product identity and quantities, and packing orders to specification before staging for dispatch
- Coordinate with Transportation and Logistics Planning regarding pickup schedules, delivery priorities, vehicle availability, and loading activities — ensuring all orders are fully staged and dispatch-ready before vehicle arrival
Inventory Control, Cycle Counting & Accuracy
- Perform regular cycle counting, physical inventory counts, and stock reconciliation activities — comparing physical inventory against WMS system records, investigating discrepancies, and initiating adjustments following approval from the inventory management team
- Monitor and manage FIFO/FEFO compliance, batch/lot control, expiry date management, and quarantine stock procedures — ensuring correct stock rotation and timely escalation of expiring, damaged, or non-conforming inventory
- Identify and address inventory discrepancies, shrinkage, and damage events promptly — documenting findings accurately in the WMS and supporting root cause investigations to reduce stock loss and improve inventory accuracy KPIs
WMS Operation, Barcode Scanning & Documentation
- Use Warehouse Management System (WMS) platforms — including SAP EWM, Oracle WMS, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, Infor, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 — to record all receiving, put-away, picking, packing, dispatch, transfer, and cycle count activities in real time with full accuracy
- Operate barcode scanners, handheld terminals, RFID readers, and mobile warehouse applications — ensuring every inventory movement is scanned and confirmed accurately at each relevant warehouse process step
- Maintain accurate and complete warehouse documentation — including goods-receipt records, delivery notes, pick lists, packing lists, transfer documents, dispatch documentation, return records, and stock-adjustment records
Warehouse Slotting & Process Optimization
- At Specialist level, support SKU slotting optimization — analyzing pick frequency, SKU velocity, product dimensions, weight, storage requirements, demand patterns, and product relationships to position high-velocity items in optimal locations that minimize travel time and maximize picking productivity
- Identify and implement warehouse process improvement opportunities across receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and inventory accuracy — using root-cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques to drive measurable productivity and accuracy gains
- Support evaluation and implementation of warehouse automation and technology solutions — including pick-to-light, put-to-light, conveyor systems, sortation, RFID, warehouse robotics, and WMS integration enhancements — identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, speed, and labor productivity
New Product, New Store & E-Commerce Fulfillment Support
- Support warehouse requirements for new product launches, new store openings, store expansions, and e-commerce channel launches — coordinating product setup, storage location assignments, labeling requirements, and fulfillment processes to ensure smooth and accurate launch execution
- Manage e-commerce and omnichannel order fulfillment activities — picking, packing, and dispatching customer orders to the required speed, accuracy, and packaging quality standards for online retail customers across the UAE
Health, Safety, Security & HSE Compliance
- Follow all warehouse HSE requirements — including PPE use, safe manual handling, forklift safety awareness, fire safety procedures, emergency protocols, and incident reporting — demonstrating consistent personal commitment to a safe and hazard-free working environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-signed warehouse environment — performing regular housekeeping, identifying hazards proactively, and contributing to a warehouse culture where safety is the first priority across all operational activities
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Operations, Business Administration, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience in a UAE/GCC warehouse environment
- Preferred professional qualifications: APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, CILT, Lean/Six Sigma, or equivalent warehouse/logistics certification
Experience Requirements
- 1–5+ years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, distribution, order fulfillment, or supply chain in a UAE, GCC, or international warehouse environment
- UAE/GCC warehouse experience — particularly in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or Jebel Ali — is highly desirable for both Assistant and Specialist level roles
- Experience in FMCG, retail, grocery, e-commerce, distribution, or high-volume warehouse environments is particularly valuable
Technical Skills & Tools
