Position Overview
The Associate — Health and Life Sciences at Oliver Wyman Dubai works side-by-side with clients as a critical member of the consulting team — managing the execution of individual project workstreams, developing hypotheses, managing data collection, model creation, and analyses, conducting primary and secondary research, creatively tackling information limitations, surfacing insights, synthesising findings into written presentations for clients and senior stakeholders, supporting the Partner group through accurate and high-quality project execution, reporting to Engagement Managers and Principals while seeking guidance on technical expertise and client engagement, and coaching junior consultants to help them develop their skill sets — across Pharmaceuticals, MedTech, and BioTechnology sectors in the areas of commercial strategy, digital and technology, and operations improvement.

Associate Responsibilities
Project Workstream Management & Strategic Analysis
- Manage the execution of individual project workstreams across Pharmaceuticals, MedTech, and BioTechnology engagements — developing hypotheses, managing data collection, building analytical models, and surfacing strategic insights for client leadership teams
- Conduct rigorous primary and secondary research to support strategic recommendations — applying structured analytical frameworks to complex healthcare and life sciences business challenges
- Creatively tackle information limitations — developing alternative data sources, proxy analyses, and expert validation approaches when primary data is unavailable or inconclusive
- Build and maintain analytical models that underpin commercial strategy, market sizing, operational performance, and digital health investment recommendations
Insight Synthesis, Presentation & Client Engagement
- Synthesise complex analytical findings into clear, compelling written presentations — structuring outputs as strategic narratives with practical recommendations for senior client and stakeholder audiences
- Review and discuss findings directly with clients and senior stakeholders — presenting insights with the confidence, clarity, and commercial acumen expected at Oliver Wyman’s standard of consulting excellence
- Support the Partner group in project delivery — ensuring accurate and high-quality execution across all client-facing deliverables throughout the engagement lifecycle
- Report to Engagement Managers and Principals — proactively seeking guidance on technical expertise or senior-level advice on project execution and client relationship management
Team Coaching, Development & Consulting Excellence
- Coach junior consultants assigned to engagements — helping them develop analytical, research, and client communication skills while maintaining the quality standards Oliver Wyman’s clients expect
- Contribute to knowledge management and intellectual capital development within the HLS practice — ensuring insights, frameworks, and analytical approaches are captured and reused across engagements
- Demonstrate leadership in fast-paced, demanding client environments — managing multiple priorities, meeting tight deadlines, and maintaining analytical precision under pressure

Essential Requirements
- 4–5 years of relevant experience — ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or other high-calibre analytical organisation operating in healthcare, life sciences, or adjacent sectors
- Prior experience in health-related strategy topics — Pharmaceuticals, MedTech, BioTechnology, payer strategy, provider operations, or digital health
- Track record of leading and managing teams — and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced, demanding client consulting environments
- Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills — structured hypothesis development, quantitative modelling, and insight synthesis
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills — for client presentations, workstream management, and senior stakeholder engagement
- Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic programme
- Fluency in English — mandatory; fluency in Arabic is preferred for GCC client engagement
- Willingness to travel — Oliver Wyman client engagements require regional and occasional international travel
