Position Overview
This Integration Engineer role sets up, maintains, and fine-tunes autopilots for various drone platforms to ensure optimal performance. You will install, configure, and test diverse payloads including imaging, sensing, and actuation systems to meet mission needs, and configure and adapt autonomy modules and SDK-based systems to enable mission execution and automated operations, working within TII’s Robotics Research Center to merge research team outputs into functioning, real-world-ready prototypes for civil aerial robotics applications.

Key Responsibilities
Autopilot Management
- Setup, maintain, and fine-tune autopilots for various drone platforms, ensuring optimal performance
Payload Integration
- Install, configure, and test diverse payloads including imaging (RGB, multispectral, thermal)
- Integrate sensing payloads (LiDAR, SAR, environmental sensors) and actuation systems (spraying, seeding, custom tools)
Autonomy & Mission Integration
- Configure and adapt autonomy modules and SDK-based systems to enable mission execution
- Support automated operations across civil aerial robotics projects
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years in flight control, UAV integration, or related fields
Technical Skills
- Hands-on expertise with PX4, ArduPilot, DJI SDKs (or equivalents)
- Experience with simulation and middleware tools such as Gazebo and ROS2
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python for embedded development and system integration
- Practical experience across different autopilot platforms, payloads, and communication protocols
Essential Skills
- Strong skills in software/hardware debugging, simulation environments, and integration workflows
Nice-to-Have
- Flight experience operating drones with an appropriate pilot license
