Position Overview
The Executive — Inventory at Jebel Ali South, Dubai is responsible for leading day-to-day inventory planning and execution — allocating bins and tasks to team members, supervising Inventory Control Assistants, overseeing PDT/RF barcode scanning operations, monitoring scanning progress and productivity, conducting random accuracy checks, investigating and escalating discrepancies, tracking daily team performance against scanning and accuracy targets, preparing operational reports, coordinating with retail store management and stockroom teams, and ensuring full compliance with company inventory SOPs and retail operational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Planning, Execution & Bin Management
- Allocate assigned bins, areas, and scanning tasks among team members to ensure efficient, structured daily workflow across the inventory operation
- Monitor and execute daily scanning activities in accordance with the approved inventory plan and operational timelines
- Ensure all assigned bins and inventory tasks are completed accurately and within defined timelines without compromising data quality
- Oversee barcode scanning of merchandise using PDT and RF scanning devices — ensuring systematic, accurate, and complete bin coverage
Team Supervision & Performance Management
- Lead and supervise Inventory Control Assistants during all daily inventory operations — briefing the team on targets, priorities, and processes
- Monitor individual and team productivity consistently, ensuring all scanning, counting, and accuracy targets are achieved on schedule
- Provide hands-on, practical guidance and support to team members on scanning, counting, and inventory control procedures daily
- Identify performance gaps and take coordinated corrective action with the supervisor or manager to maintain team productivity standards
Scanning Progress Monitoring & Accuracy Checks
- Monitor scanning progress continuously — identifying delays, incomplete bins, or operational bottlenecks and resolving them promptly
- Conduct regular random checks to ensure all items are correctly scanned, accurately counted, and properly recorded in the system
- Ensure misplaced, damaged, unidentified, or duplicate items are appropriately reported, flagged, and addressed following SOPs
- Ensure team members correctly use PDT and RF scanning devices — and promptly report any system, device, or barcode technical issues
Inventory Accuracy, Reconciliation & Discrepancy Management
- Monitor inventory accuracy throughout each scanning cycle and investigate all discrepancies identified during scanning and stock counts
- Coordinate recounts and verification activities wherever required to resolve and confirm inventory variances accurately
- Ensure all discrepancies are thoroughly documented and escalated to the relevant supervisor or manager for review and action
- Prepare and maintain daily operational reports, productivity updates, and inventory accuracy summaries for management review
Retail Coordination, Compliance & Safety
- Coordinate with Retail Store Manager, Stockroom, and other relevant operational teams to ensure smooth daily inventory activities
- Ensure full compliance with company inventory procedures, SOPs, and all applicable retail operational guidelines at all times
- Promote safe handling of merchandise and equipment across all inventory operations and maintain an organised, safe working environment
- Ensure proper handling of all inventory to actively minimise stock loss, product damage, and inventory discrepancies
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Retail Management, Logistics, or a related field — preferred
Experience Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, stock management, warehouse operations, or retail operations in UAE or GCC
- Previous retail experience is preferred — particularly within large-scale retail, fashion, lifestyle, FMCG, or multi-store environments
- Prior experience supervising or leading a warehouse or retail inventory team is a preferred qualification for this role
- Experience with PDT devices, RF scanners, barcode scanning, or inventory management systems is a valuable advantage
