Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Supplier ESG & Sustainability Compliance
- Drive comprehensive supplier and subcontractor ESG and sustainability assessments across Descon’s supply chain in UAE
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of the Supplier Code of Conduct across all relevant supplier tiers
- Track sustainability KPIs, monitor supplier compliance levels, and manage corrective actions where gaps or non-conformances are identified
- Coordinate the collection and structured reporting of GHG emissions and sustainability data from suppliers for ESG disclosure purposes
Supplier Risk, Due Diligence & Green Procurement
- Support supplier risk assessment, due diligence processes, and sustainability governance initiatives across the SCM function
- Assist in the development and execution of sustainable and green procurement initiatives and supplier engagement programmes
- Identify and escalate supplier sustainability risks that could impact Descon’s ESG commitments, regulatory compliance, or project delivery
- Maintain accurate supplier sustainability data, compliance records, and supporting documentation for audit and reporting requirements
SAP S/4HANA SCM Transformation Support
- Support SCM process mapping, data readiness, system testing, and go-live implementation activities related to SAP S/4HANA
- Coordinate actively with SCM, Projects, Corporate, and ERP implementation teams throughout the SAP S/4HANA transformation programme
- Identify and document SCM process improvement and digitalisation opportunities enabled by the SAP S/4HANA migration
- Support change management, user acceptance testing, and post-implementation stabilisation activities for the SCM module
Procurement Process Improvement & Digitalistion
- Support the improvement and digitalisation of procurement and supply chain processes as part of the wider ERP transformation
- Analyse existing SCM workflows and recommend process enhancements that improve efficiency, compliance, and data quality
- Contribute to the development of SCM reporting dashboards and KPI frameworks using SAP data and analytics capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align procurement digitalistion with project and business requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering — a relevant engineering qualification is required for this industrial SCM role
Experience Requirements
- 5–12 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Subcontracting within Oil & Gas, EPC, or Industrial Services
- 5+ years of hands-on work experience with SAP Products and SAP ERP in a supply chain or procurement context
- 5+ years of experience with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks, sustainable procurement, or supplier sustainability
- 5+ years of oil and gas industry experience — essential for understanding the sector’s unique supply chain complexity
- Hands-on exposure to SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, or transformation projects is highly preferred
Essential Skills & Competencies
- Good understanding of ESG principles, sustainable procurement frameworks, supplier sustainability, and governance requirements
