Amentum is hiring a Traffic Management Specialist to coordinate Port Handling and Inland Transportation (PHIT) activities in the UAE. This role delivers and receives cargo at commercial and military seaports and airports, completes customs clearances, and manages ground transportation of cargo to staging areas, transshipment points, and consignees.
About the Role
The Traffic Management Specialist loads and offloads trucks, accomplishes all transportation documentation, and prepares and processes USG cargo for airlift under supervision. The role provides liaison between Amentum and shipping agencies, the ECA Transportation QAE, and other customers, while acting as the work monitor’s designated representative overseeing PHIT subcontractor quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities
Inbound Cargo Coordination
- Receive inbound cargo manifests or airway bills and prepare tasking folders, Purchase Requests, ACO Customs and RAFO Clearance Letters, and Delivery Release Orders
- Coordinate inbound cargo processing and delivery actions with subcontractors; update TMS as required
- Track inbound shipments until completion of delivery at sites and close out tasking folders
Outbound Cargo Coordination
- Receive outbound cargo manifests or Transportation Control and Movement Documents from site traffic management departments
- Prepare tasking folders, Purchase Requests, outbound Customs Clearance and RAFO Clearance Letters, and update the PHIT Daily Spreadsheet
- Determine the best transportation mode and coordinate with SDDC and subcontractors for sea and air shipments
- Track outbound cargo until completion of delivery to seaport or airport
Liaison & Quality Assurance
- Provide liaison with seaport and airport authorities, shipping agents, and internal/external PHIT customers
- Act as Work Monitor designated representative, performing quality assurance of subcontractor performance IAW contract
- Operate computers, printers, fax machines, and LAN/email systems for business correspondence
Qualifications & Requirements
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to understand, speak, read, and write English at an intermediate level
- Proficient in personal computers, Windows Operating System, and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Valid home country driver’s license with ability to obtain host nation driver’s license
- Ability to operate material handling equipment
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Physically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling a minimum of 50 lbs. and performing extensive equipment handling
- Must be able to wear PPE as required and tolerate extreme noise from operating equipment
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
- Minimum of three years’ experience in civilian or military transportation industry preferred
