Metal Fabricator Position Overview

What You Will Do Day to Day
- Cut, shape and assemble metal parts from drawings and measurements.
- Operate hand and power tools and fabrication machinery.
- Perform grinding and finishing work.
- Prepare materials and check components for quality and safety.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Work with supervisors and colleagues on project requirements.
- Handle materials and operate forklifts where applicable and permitted.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong metalworking skills: cutting, shaping, welding basics and assembly.
- Confident use of hand tools and power tools.
- Grinding and finishing experience to achieve the required surface quality.
- Able to read technical drawings, measurements and work orders.
- Safe forklift and material handling, where licences are held.
- Attention to detail and respect for safety procedures.
- Experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing or a related trade; vocational training is an asset.
- Physically able to lift, bend and stand for long periods.
