Job Overview — Food Quality Control (QC)
The Food Quality Control (QC) professional will play a critical role in monitoring, testing, and ensuring that all food products meet stringent quality and safety standards throughout the manufacturing process. This position requires hands-on involvement in production quality checks, compliance verification, documentation management, and coordination with production teams to maintain excellence in food safety.

Key Job Responsibilities
As a Food Quality Control professional in Saudi Arabia, your key responsibilities will include:
Quality Monitoring & Food Safety Standards
- Monitor and ensure strict adherence to food quality and safety standards throughout the production process
- Implement and maintain HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles and control measures
- Verify compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food hygiene regulations
- Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods
- Ensure products meet specifications for appearance, taste, texture, nutritional content, and shelf life
- Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and verify corrective actions when deviations occur
Quality Checks During Production
- Perform comprehensive quality checks at various stages of the production line including receiving, processing, packaging, and storage
- Conduct sensory evaluations including visual inspection, taste testing, odor assessment, and texture analysis
- Test physical parameters such as temperature, pH, moisture content, weight, and dimensions
- Collect samples for laboratory analysis including microbiological testing, chemical analysis, and contamination screening
- Verify proper labeling, coding, and packaging integrity before product release
- Identify non-conforming products and initiate hold, quarantine, or rejection procedures
Regulatory Compliance & Standards
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) regulations
- Stay updated on changes to food safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices
- Support internal and external audits including SFDA inspections, customer audits, and certification audits
- Verify that manufacturing processes meet halal certification requirements where applicable
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues and prevent recurrence
QC Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive QC documentation including inspection records, test results, and quality reports
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly quality control checklists and reporting formats
- Prepare detailed reports on quality performance, non-conformances, and corrective actions
- Document deviations, investigations, and root cause analysis findings
- Maintain sample retention records and traceability documentation
- Ensure all QC records are organized, accessible, and compliant with regulatory retention requirements
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate closely with production teams, supervisors, and line operators on quality requirements and issues
- Communicate quality concerns, hold notifications, and corrective action needs to management promptly
- Provide technical guidance to production staff on quality standards and best practices
- Participate in quality meetings, HACCP team discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with procurement teams on raw material quality specifications and supplier audits
- Work with laboratory teams to prioritize testing and interpret analytical results
Required Qualifications & Experience

Educational Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Nutrition, or related field (required)
- Additional certifications in HACCP, food safety, or quality management are highly advantageous
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in FMCG or food manufacturing quality control roles is strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience conducting quality inspections, testing, and documentation in production environments
- Familiarity with fast-paced food production operations and quality control workflows
- Experience working in Saudi Arabia or GCC region is beneficial but not mandatory
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP principles, ISO 22000, GMP, and food hygiene regulations
- Understanding of Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) requirements and food safety legislation in KSA
- Proficiency in quality control testing methods including sensory evaluation, physical testing, and sample collection
- Ability to interpret laboratory test results and make quality decisions
- Knowledge of food microbiology, food chemistry, and contamination risks
- Familiarity with halal certification requirements and Islamic dietary standards
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting
