Position Overview
This Quality Officer job in Jeddah is a hands-on, fast-paced food safety role ideal for professionals with a solid foundation in HACCP, GMP, and SFDA compliance. You will be responsible for the day-to-day quality control of a busy central kitchen operation — inspecting raw materials, monitoring production processes, conducting internal audits, training staff on hygiene practices, and preparing quality reports for management. Key Responsibilities
Food Safety & Quality Systems
- Implement, maintain, and monitor HACCP plans, GMP practices, and sanitation programs across all kitchen operations
- Ensure full and ongoing compliance with SFDA regulations and all relevant internal quality policies
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation including logs, SOPs, and daily checklists for audit readiness
- Support the development and upkeep of quality management systems aligned with ISO and FSSC 22000 standards
Operational Quality Control
- Inspect incoming raw materials and finished food products to ensure they meet defined quality and safety specifications
- Monitor product quality consistently during and after production processes at the central kitchen
- Ensure proper food hygiene practices and safe food handling are maintained by all production staff
- Apply FIFO and FEFO rotation principles along with correct storage standards across all food categories
- Exercise authority to stop operations immediately whenever food safety risks or non-compliances are identified
Audits & Compliance
- Conduct daily and periodic quality and hygiene inspections throughout the central kitchen and storage areas
- Identify non-conformances, food safety risks, and areas for operational improvement
- Perform structured root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Support and prepare for external audits, SFDA regulatory inspections, and third-party quality reviews
Supplier Quality Assurance
- Evaluate, approve, and monitor food and packaging suppliers against defined quality and safety standards
- Ensure all approved suppliers maintain valid certifications and demonstrate consistent compliance
- Track supplier performance metrics and support corrective action processes when standards are not met
Training & Food Safety Culture
- Deliver engaging food safety and hygiene training sessions for all kitchen and production team members
- Conduct onboarding sessions for new staff and regular refresher training for existing employees
- Champion and promote a strong, proactive food safety culture throughout the entire operation
Reporting & Quality KPIs
- Maintain accurate and consistent records including temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and inspection reports
- Track key quality KPIs including customer complaint rates, audit scores, and non-conformance trends
- Prepare clear, data-driven quality reports for management on a regular basis to support decision-making
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Microbiology, or a closely related field
- Additional certifications in HACCP, food safety, or quality management are a strong advantage
Experience Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in food production, central kitchen operations, or a related food manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated practical experience conducting audits, managing compliance, and implementing food safety systems
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP principles, GMP standards, and food safety best practices
- Familiarity with SFDA regulations and GCC food safety compliance requirements
- Ability to maintain detailed documentation, quality records, and audit-ready systems at all times
