 Position Overview

The Quality Assistant Manager at Basamh Group Jeddah plays a central role in verifying compliance across the group’s business units against QSE legislations, systems, standards, and customer requirements. You will drive corrective action plans, build QSE competencies across teams, lead internal and external audits, manage supplier QSE performance, and ensure all risk mitigation controls are properly understood and implemented — so that Basamh’s QSE targets are consistently achieved across its retail, HORECA, and manufacturing operations.

Why This Role Matters: In a group that spans FMCG retail distribution, HORECA food services, brand marketing, and food manufacturing across the MEA region, quality and safety are not optional — they are the foundation of every customer relationship and every product delivered. As Quality Assistant Manager at Basamh Group, you are the compliance backbone of a multi-business-unit organization where your audits, your training programmes, and your corrective actions protect the brand, the business, and the consumers it serves every day across Saudi Arabia and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

QSE Policy Implementation & Documentation

  • Lead the implementation of QSE policies, manuals, and procedures, ensuring full alignment with company objectives, Saudi legal requirements, and applicable industry standards
  • Oversee the creation, review, and updating of all QSE documentation — acting as the document controller for all QSE-related materials across business units
  • Verify compliance of business unit operations against QSE legislations, systems, standards, and customer requirements on an ongoing basis

QSE Training & Awareness

  • Develop, approve, and implement QSE training materials and workplace awareness programmes across FMCG, HORECA, and manufacturing teams
  • Ensure all employees are well-informed about workplace hazards, operational risks, and safety practices relevant to their roles
  • Build QSE competencies at all organizational levels to ensure that risk mitigation controls are clearly understood and consistently applied

Audits, Certifications & Risk Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute internal and external audits against ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 45001, and other applicable standards — ensuring timely closure of compliance gaps
  • Continuously review training and operational plans to identify, assess, and manage all job-related and site-related hazards effectively
  • Follow up on proper action plan development and execution against audit findings with clear accountability and deadlines

Supplier & Operational Performance Management

  • Build and maintain effective supplier relationships, evaluating QSE performance through structured assessments and audits
  • Implement improvement plans based on supplier audit findings and KPI performance results
  • Monitor operational performance across business units and escalate non-conformities with clear corrective action pathways

Reporting, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare and communicate QSE reports including audit results, training records, KPIs, and incident trends for senior management decision-making visibility
  • Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to continuously improve QSE processes
  • Contribute to identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities that enhance operational effectiveness and QSE outcomes

People Management & Team Leadership

  • Set clear performance objectives for direct reports, offer necessary support, and regularly evaluate and provide constructive feedback on performance
  • Actively participate in the identification and recruitment of key QSE talent for the function
  • Create genuine opportunities for team members to contribute to improvement initiatives, innovation, and knowledge-sharing programmes

 Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field — Food Science, Environmental Health, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline

Experience Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in QSE, quality assurance, food safety compliance, or auditing within FMCG, HORECA, or food manufacturing
  • Proven hands-on experience with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and/or ISO 45001 audit and compliance management

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office — particularly Excel and PowerPoint for QSE reporting, KPI dashboards, and training material development
  • Experience with Document Control Systems and working knowledge of ERP systems — SAP experience is a strong advantage
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a compliance-driven mindset and sharp attention to detail

Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Strong personality with the demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, enforce compliance, and drive accountability across cross-functional teams
