Position Overview
The Senior Manager Quality Assurance at Almarai’s Jeddah Plant will be responsible for driving outstanding business performance through rigorous compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS). This senior leadership role requires you to achieve key business and quality objectives by leading all divisional quality functions, managing laboratory operations, developing and training QA personnel, and implementing effective corrective actions to reduce non-conformances, customer complaints, wastage, and final product rejections across the poultry production facility.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Standards Development & Employee Awareness
- Develop, implement, and maintain the highest quality standards on site to ensure all employees are fully aware of their contribution to achieving quality objectives
- Build and sustain a strong quality-first culture across all production and support departments within the Jeddah plant
- Ensure all quality procedures, work instructions, and standards are current, accessible, and consistently followed by site personnel
Health, Safety & Quality Culture
- Develop and embed a robust health and safety culture specifically within the Quality department to increase awareness and minimise workplace accidents
- Champion continuous improvement in QA processes through structured risk assessment, safety reviews, and proactive hazard identification
- Ensure full compliance with Almarai’s health, safety, and environmental standards across all quality-related activities on site
Quality Investigation & Corrective Action Management
- Manage quality investigation systems to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions to reduce non-conformances (NCNs)
- Lead reduction initiatives targeting customer and consumer complaints, production wastage, and final product dumps at the facility
- Oversee root cause analysis (RCA) processes and ensure all corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) are implemented, verified, and closed on time
Laboratory Management & Legislative Compliance
- Manage all laboratory functions to ensure reliable, accurate, and traceable test results that protect product integrity and legislative compliance
- Ensure all poultry product testing meets applicable KSA food safety regulations, international standards, and Almarai’s internal specifications
- Oversee laboratory operations within agreed staffing and budgetary limits while maintaining the highest analytical standards
Staff Development & Departmental Performance
- Develop and train QA staff to optimise departmental performance, technical competency, and operational flexibility
- Conduct structured performance reviews, identify training needs, and create individual development plans for quality team members
- Build a high-performing, motivated QA team capable of delivering exceptional quality outcomes in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or an equivalent relevant scientific discipline
- Postgraduate qualifications or advanced certifications in quality management or food safety are a distinct advantage
Experience Requirements
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in the chilled food industry — specifically within quality assurance or quality management roles
- Proven track record of leading QA teams, managing laboratory operations, and driving QMS compliance in a large-scale FMCG or food manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with poultry, dairy, or chilled food product quality and legislative compliance requirements
Certifications
- HACCP Certification — mandatory for this senior quality leadership role
- ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification — required
- ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System — required
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management System — required
- AIBI (American Institute of Baking International) certification — required
- FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certification — required

- Strong leadership and people management skills to develop and motivate a diverse QA team within a large-scale manufacturing site
- Deep knowledge of food safety management systems, quality investigation methodologies, and root cause analysis techniques
