Position Overview
As a Supply Chain Management Specialist in the direct procurement team, you will own the company’s supply operations for its launch vehicle and launch pad programs. Your scope covers supplier negotiations, purchase order creation and follow-up, delivery monitoring, stock optimisation, and supplier performance assessment. This is a high-impact role that sits at the core of aerospace manufacturing operations, requiring strong analytical thinking, excellent communication in both English and German, and a results-driven approach in a fast-moving, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
Direct Procurement & Supplier Negotiations
- Negotiate with external suppliers to secure advantageous commercial and technical terms using a win-win approach that strengthens long-term partnerships
- Build and maintain strong, trusted supplier relationships to ensure optimal pricing, service levels, and supply continuity for launch vehicle components
- Handle the full procurement cycle for products required by the launch vehicle and launch pad programs from sourcing through to delivery
- Collaborate and align with internal departments to ensure technical specifications and procurement expectations are clearly defined and met
Purchase Order Management
- Create and issue purchase orders accurately in line with internal production schedules and program requirements
- Follow up on all open purchase orders to ensure timely confirmation, processing, and delivery by suppliers
- Monitor delivery schedules and PO due dates continuously to guarantee on-time arrival of goods critical to launch operations
- Optimise stock levels to balance supply availability with cost efficiency across procurement categories
Supplier Performance & Risk Management
- Assess and manage supplier performance regularly using structured evaluation frameworks and KPIs
- Identify delivery risks proactively and initiate continuous improvement programs to address performance gaps
- Develop mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions in the complex, time-sensitive aerospace manufacturing environment
- Support risk assessments and contingency planning for critical components and long-lead-time items
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, production, and project management teams to align procurement activities with technical needs and launch timelines
- Participate in cross-departmental discussions to clarify specifications, resolve supply issues, and support new product introduction
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Support the broader procurement team with analysis, reporting, and strategic sourcing activities as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or Business with a strong focus on technology — up to 3 years of academic or early professional experience considered
- Additional qualifications in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement are a valuable advantage
Experience Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience in aerospace or automotive industries is strongly preferred and considered a significant advantage
- Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships, purchase orders, and delivery schedules in a complex production setting
