Position Overview
As an Engineer — General Technician at Hilton UAE, you will be a cornerstone of the hotel’s daily operations — ensuring that every space within the property is safe, fully functional, and ready to deliver the outstanding guest experience that Hilton is globally known for. Your day will involve responding to guest service requests, completing work orders from team members, performing multi-disciplinary maintenance tasks across carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and masonry, conducting preventive maintenance inspections, and keeping detailed documentation of all completed maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities
Hotel Facilities Maintenance & Safety
- Maintain the physical functionality and safety of all hotel areas — guest rooms, public spaces, and heart-of-house zones
- Ensure all facilities consistently meet Hilton’s brand standards for cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness
- Identify maintenance needs proactively through daily walk-throughs and systematic property inspections
- Coordinate with department heads and the engineering team to prioritize and address maintenance requirements efficiently
Guest Service Requests & Work Order Response
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest calls and maintenance service requests to minimize disruption to the guest experience
- Handle team member work orders efficiently and within agreed service timelines to maintain operational flow
- Communicate clearly with guests when entering rooms or working in public areas, reflecting Hilton’s hospitality values at all times
- Follow up on completed work orders to confirm that issues have been fully resolved to the guest’s and team’s satisfaction
Multi-Discipline Maintenance — HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry & Masonry
- Perform a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks across carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and masonry disciplines
- Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues accurately and efficiently, applying the correct trade skills and safety procedures
- Use appropriate tools, equipment, and materials for each task in compliance with hotel safety and brand standards
- Escalate complex or high-risk technical issues to senior engineers or specialist contractors as required and within established protocols
Preventive Maintenance Inspections & Documentation
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address issues before they arise
- Record completed inspections and repairs accurately in the hotel’s maintenance management system for full traceability
- Flag any identified issues requiring further attention, specialist intervention, or capital investment for management review
- Maintain organized, up-to-date maintenance logs and documentation in line with Hilton operational and compliance standards
