Key Responsibilities
Food Safety & Hygiene Monitoring
- Monitor, enforce, and continuously improve food safety, hygiene, and quality standards across all Central Kitchen production, storage, and food handling areas and processes
- Conduct scheduled and unannounced routine inspections of food production lines, storage facilities, equipment, and personnel hygiene practices to identify and address non-conformances promptly
- Ensure strict compliance with HACCP critical control points, food safety regulations, Kuwait Ministry of Health requirements, and all relevant company quality policies and procedures
- Identify potential food safety hazards proactively, implement preventive measures, and escalate critical issues to management with clear documentation and recommended corrective actions
Quality Control Inspections & Testing
- Perform thorough quality checks and sensory evaluations on incoming raw materials, semi-processed work-in-progress items, and finished food products against established quality specifications
- Inspect supplier deliveries for quality, temperature compliance, labelling accuracy, and overall conformance with purchase specifications — rejecting non-conforming materials with proper documentation
- Monitor and record Critical Control Point (CCP) data including cooking temperatures, chilling rates, storage temperatures, and processing times to verify HACCP plan effectiveness
- Investigate root causes of quality failures, product defects, or food safety deviations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence
QA/QC Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date QA/QC records, inspection logs, audit reports, non-conformance registers, and corrective action documentation as required by company and regulatory standards
- Prepare clear, professional daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports summarising inspection findings, KPIs, trends, and corrective action status for management review
- Ensure all food safety and quality management documentation is properly filed, version-controlled, and readily accessible for internal reviews, third-party audits, and regulatory inspections
- Support the development and ongoing review of HACCP plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and food safety management system documents to maintain system currency and accuracy
Training, Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Design and deliver practical food safety, personal hygiene, and quality awareness training sessions for Central Kitchen staff — ensuring all team members understand and follow food safety requirements
- Support the planning, preparation, and execution of internal quality audits and external regulatory inspections — ensuring the kitchen is audit-ready at all times
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance food quality consistency, reduce waste, optimise production processes, and strengthen the overall food safety culture
- Stay current with evolving Kuwait and GCC food safety legislation, HACCP guidelines, GMP standards, and international food quality management best practices to ensure ongoing compliance
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on QA/QC experience gained in a food production facility, central kitchen, catering operation, or food manufacturing environment is required
- Demonstrated practical knowledge and working experience with HACCP systems, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety quality management systems in a professional setting
