Why This Role Is Unique: Electrical Design Engineer positions within airport logistics automation — specifically baggage and cargo handling systems — represent one of the most specialized, globally recognized, and career-differentiating engineering niches in the entire infrastructure and automation sector. Experience gained in this role is valued by major airport operators, aviation contractors, and logistics automation companies across the world. Combine that with tax-free income in Dubai and access to landmark aviation projects — this is a truly exceptional career opportunity in 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Power Design & Single-Line Diagrams
- Based on mechanical layouts and drive lists, create detailed single-line diagrams and perform electrical power calculations and dimensioning to ensure compliance with voltage drop, short circuit current, and selectivity rules
- Analyze tender specifications and develop engineering designs accordingly, including SAP and BOQ generation and procurement of required electrical installation materials as per approved submittals
- Ensure all electrical power designs fully comply with applicable standards including EN, BS, DEWA, SASO, and relevant international electrical engineering codes
EPLAN Detailed Design & Documentation
- Create detailed design layouts and wiring diagrams using EPLAN P8 with pre-defined engineering templates — complying with industrial practices and international standards across all project deliverables
- Develop comprehensive project documentation including trunking layouts, cable routing designs, cable schedules, material submittals, Functional Design Specifications, and Detailed Design Specifications
- Produce and maintain complete Operation and Maintenance manuals and Training manuals covering electrical systems, controls, and general project requirements for client handover packages
REVIT Design Management & Dynamo Programming
- Create and manage electrical design projects within REVIT software — producing detailed layouts for cable trunking, panel positioning, containment routing, and equipment placement
- Build and maintain Revit families to support project-specific design requirements and enable efficient parametric design workflows across the engineering team
- Work with the Dynamo plugin for Revit programming — automating repetitive design tasks, generating material schedules, and improving overall design workflow efficiency
- Create detailed reports, material sheets, and quantity schedules in Revit to support accurate and timely electrical material ordering and procurement processes via SAP
Cross-Functional Team Coordination
- Work closely and coordinate daily across multiple departments including Mechanical, PLC Commissioning, Software, Installation, Procurement, and Logistics teams
- Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders — clients, project managers, vendors, and subcontractors — to ensure aligned, timely project delivery outcomes
- Support installation teams with technical clarifications, design interpretations, and on-site electrical engineering guidance throughout the project execution phase
Quality Assurance & HSSE Compliance
- Manage and ensure that all applicable project quality procedures for electrical design are consistently followed — enabling all aspects of the project to achieve design objectives and customer satisfaction
- Follow all occupational health, safety, security, environment, and quality requirements as stipulated in the Project HSSE Plan and Project Quality Plan
- Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date design documentation and engineering records throughout all phases of project execution and closeout
