Position Overview
As a Lab Technician (Beverage) at ADM Dubai, you will be a key contributor to the beverage application lab’s day-to-day work — combining scientific precision with creative curiosity to develop and refine flavor solutions for ADM’s diverse customer base across the EMEA region. Your responsibilities span taste sample production and modification, customer project coordination, cross-departmental communication, and the disciplined, safety-conscious handling of fine chemicals in a world-class application lab environment. You will work at the intersection of food science, flavor innovation, and customer solution development — collaborating with ADM’s broader EMEA team and Germany-based development headquarters to bring beverage applications from concept to customer-ready sample with speed, accuracy, and commercial relevance.

Key Responsibilities
Beverage Taste Sample Production & Flavor Application Development
- Produce and adapt beverage taste samples with precision — including modification of ADM Nutrition products based on customer requirements, followed by controlled release for customer sampling
- Contribute actively to flavor creation and finished application development within the Dubai beverage application lab, aligning with ADM’s global taste and nutrition portfolio
- Understand and apply ADM Nutrition’s full product and service portfolio to develop relevant, commercially viable taste solutions that address customers’ specific beverage application needs
- Handle fine chemicals consistently and with disciplined, precise working practices that meet ADM’s safety protocols, laboratory standards, and regulatory requirements
Customer Project Coordination & Deadline Management
- Take ownership of coordinating customer projects end-to-end — ensuring all beverage application work aligns with agreed deadlines, safety requirements, and organizational goals
- Maintain accurate, well-organized project records and sample tracking using SAP and Salesforce tools to ensure full visibility of customer project status and history
- Communicate proactively with customers and internal stakeholders on project progress, sample dispatch, feedback integration, and next-step actions
- Manage multiple concurrent customer projects with strong organizational discipline, prioritizing efficiently to meet all deadlines without compromising quality or safety
EMEA Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate and communicate effectively between departments across ADM’s EMEA network — including the development headquarters in Germany, other regional application labs, and the commercial team
- Act as a reliable and proactive cross-functional partner — sharing lab findings, customer insights, and application learnings that support ADM’s broader EMEA flavor and beverage development strategy
- Contribute to joint development initiatives with EMEA colleagues by sharing Dubai lab expertise and incorporating feedback from other application centres into local work programmes
- Support EMEA-wide knowledge sharing through clear, accurate documentation of beverage application methodologies, taste sample outcomes, and ingredient interaction data

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a closely related scientific discipline — required for this beverage application lab role
- Additional qualifications or postgraduate study in flavor science, food technology, or beverage product development are considered a distinct advantage
Experience & Knowledge
- Ideally some initial experience in beverage product development, flavor application, or a closely related food science laboratory environment — even at early career stage
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of product processing methods and the interaction of ingredients in beverage applications — understanding how flavors behave in different formulation contexts
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop expertise rapidly in ADM’s innovative beverage and nutrition portfolio within a globally connected, EMEA-spanning application lab network
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent project management skills — able to coordinate multiple customer projects with competing deadlines independently and reliably within a lab environment
- Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic — essential for effective communication with ADM’s regional customers, UAE-based teams, and international EMEA colleagues
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style — comfortable working within and between teams across different countries, functions, and seniority levels
- Solid PC skills and proficiency with IT tools including SAP and Salesforce — for project management, customer data tracking, and sample documentation
