Position Overview
As Senior Coordinator Quality Control at talabat’s tMart in Dubai, you will be the quality backbone of the company’s cloud grocery distribution centre — responsible for every aspect of product quality from the moment goods arrive at the warehouse to the moment they are dispatched to customers’ doors. You will perform rigorous inbound QC inspections, enforce FIFO and FEFO protocols, manage cold chain and storage compliance, lead supplier rejection and non-conformance reporting, conduct outbound dispatch quality checks, and report KPIs to management. Key Responsibilities
Inbound QC Checks — Temperature, Shelf Life, Labeling & Product Condition
- Perform comprehensive inbound QC checks on all received products — verifying temperature compliance, shelf life adequacy, labeling accuracy, and overall product condition against defined specifications
- Apply rigorous butchery product inspection expertise to assess meat and protein product quality, freshness, and compliance with talabat tMart’s quality parameters and UAE food safety regulations
- Reject non-conforming inbound products and raise formal supplier non-conformance reports with accurate documentation of deviation type, quantity, and supporting evidence
- Coordinate with the receiving and procurement teams to ensure all inbound QC findings are communicated promptly and non-conforming goods are quarantined and processed correctly
FIFO/FEFO Enforcement & Product Segregation
- Enforce strict FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) protocols across all warehouse product categories to minimize waste and protect consumer safety
- Ensure proper product segregation by category, allergen risk, and storage requirement — preventing cross-contamination and maintaining clear product identity throughout the warehouse
- Conduct regular stock rotation checks to verify FIFO/FEFO compliance and identify any at-risk or near-expiry products before they reach the dispatch stage
- Train warehouse team members on FIFO/FEFO principles and product segregation requirements through practical, on-the-floor guidance and structured briefings
Cold Chain, Warehouse Hygiene & Storage Compliance
- Monitor and maintain cold chain compliance across all chilled and frozen storage zones — recording temperatures at defined intervals and escalating any deviations immediately
- Oversee warehouse hygiene standards across all storage and handling areas — conducting regular hygiene inspections and coordinating corrective action where standards are not met
- Ensure that storage conditions for all product categories — including fresh meat, dairy, produce, and ambient goods — consistently meet UAE food safety requirements and company SOPs
- Document all cold chain monitoring activities, hygiene inspection outcomes, and storage compliance records with the accuracy and completeness required for internal and external audit purposes
Supplier Performance Management & Non-Conformance Reporting
- Lead the product rejection process for non-conforming inbound deliveries — documenting all rejections clearly and issuing formal supplier non-conformance reports in a timely manner
- Track and evaluate supplier performance over time using defined KPIs — identifying patterns of non-conformance, quality decline, or delivery failures that require escalation or intervention
- Follow up with suppliers on Corrective Action Plans (CAP) resulting from non-conformance reports — verifying implementation and effectiveness within agreed timeframes
- Provide regular supplier performance evaluation summaries to management and procurement teams to inform sourcing decisions and supplier development priorities
Outbound QC, UAE Compliance & KPI Reporting
- Conduct thorough outbound quality checks on all products before dispatch to tMart stores — ensuring only fully compliant, quality-verified products reach the customer
- Ensure full compliance with UAE food safety regulations and all approved company SOPs and procedures across all quality control activities in the distribution centre
- Report and escalate KPIs including product rejections, wastage rates, deviations, and cold chain incidents to management in a timely and structured manner
- Maintain detailed, accurate QC records and reports using MS Excel — enabling trend analysis, management review, and continuous improvement of quality performance metrics
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of QC experience in a distribution centre, warehouse, FMCG retail business, cross-dock facility, or food operation environment — essential for this role
- Butchery experience is a MANDATORY requirement — candidates without direct butchery or meat product QC expertise will not be considered for this position
- Strong working knowledge of cold chain management and inbound inspection processes in a chilled and frozen food distribution environment
Certifications
- HACCP certification and ISO Food Safety certification are preferred and will be given priority — candidates with active HACCP or ISO 22000 credentials are strongly encouraged to apply
- Additional food safety qualifications relevant to the UAE regulatory environment and retail grocery distribution context are a meaningful advantage
