The role involves monitoring food safety standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting inspections and audits, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting the organisation’s food safety management system — all within Abu Dhabi’s highly regulated and internationally aligned food safety environment. The addition of visa sponsorship and the open-to-all-nationalities policy makes this one of the most accessible and attractive food safety entry-to-mid-level roles currently available in the UAE capital, with immediate joining preference ensuring a fast, streamlined hiring process for the right candidate.

Why This Role Matters: As a Food and Safety Officer in Abu Dhabi, UAE — with AED 4,000–4,200 monthly salary and a full visa sponsorship package — you will build real-world food safety compliance experience in one of the GCC’s most professionally demanding and internationally scrutinised food regulatory environments, develop your HACCP, food science, and inspection skills within a structured professional setting, grow your career in the UAE’s fast-expanding food safety and quality assurance sector, and establish yourself as a credentialled food safety professional in a market that values food science expertise exceptionally highly.

 Key Responsibilities

Food Safety Inspections & Compliance Monitoring

  • Conduct routine food safety inspections across food production, handling, storage, preparation, and service areas — ensuring all activities consistently comply with Abu Dhabi Municipality, ADAFSA, and UAE federal food safety regulations
  • Monitor compliance with established food safety standards, GMP requirements, and internal hygiene protocols on a daily basis — identifying non-conformances and escalating issues for prompt corrective action
  • Verify that food storage conditions — including temperature management, FIFO rotation, expiry date monitoring, and separation of raw and cooked products — are correctly maintained at all times
  • Inspect food labelling, allergen declarations, product specifications, and packaging compliance to ensure all food products meet UAE regulatory and consumer safety requirements

HACCP System Support & Food Safety Documentation

  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) programs — recording critical control point data and ensuring monitoring procedures are correctly followed
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and audit-ready food safety records — including temperature logs, cleaning schedules, corrective action reports, inspection records, and traceability documentation
  • Prepare food safety documentation, compliance reports, and inspection summaries for review by the Food Safety Manager and relevant regulatory authorities as required
  • Support internal and external food safety audits by ensuring all records, documentation, and operational practices are organised, current, and fully compliant with applicable standards

Hygiene Standards & Sanitation Monitoring

  • Monitor and verify that personal hygiene practices, uniform standards, and safe food-handling behaviours are consistently followed by all food handlers across all operational areas
  • Oversee cleaning and sanitation schedules — verifying that cleaning tasks are completed correctly, on time, and with the appropriate cleaning agents and methods as specified in the hygiene management plan
  • Conduct allergen control monitoring — ensuring cross-contamination prevention measures are in place and effectively maintained across all food preparation, storage, and service environments
  • Monitor pest control activities and facility hygiene standards — reporting any concerns to the Food Safety Manager and coordinating with pest control providers to ensure rapid resolution

Staff Training & Food Safety Awareness

  • Support the delivery of food safety and hygiene training sessions for food handling staff — ensuring all team members understand and actively apply correct food safety practices within their day-to-day work
  • Conduct food safety awareness briefings, toolbox talks, and hygiene reminders to reinforce a strong, proactive food safety culture across all operational teams
  • Assess staff food safety knowledge and identify training needs — contributing to the development and delivery of targeted food safety education programmes that address identified gaps

Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions

  • Investigate food safety incidents, customer complaints, non-conformances, and quality failures — identifying root causes and recommending practical corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence
  • Follow up on corrective actions — verifying that remediation measures have been properly implemented and are producing the intended food safety improvement outcomes within agreed timeframes
  • Report food safety performance data, incident trends, and compliance metrics accurately and in a timely manner — supporting management decision-making and ongoing regulatory compliance across the organisation

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or any other closely related science discipline from a recognised university
  • Additional food safety certifications — such as HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, or equivalent — are a strong advantage and will be viewed very positively by the hiring team

Experience Requirements

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in food safety, food quality assurance, food inspection, or a related food science role — UAE or GCC experience is an advantage but not a requirement
