Position Overview
The Production Manager at SADAFCO is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of factory production in line with company standards and international best practices, ensuring output is delivered in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. Key Responsibilities
Production Strategy & Planning
- Implement the approved production strategy to meet the goals of the factory and align with the overall business strategy
- Plan all production activities to deliver the factory’s production plan in line with agreed time and budget targets
- Identify bottlenecks within the production process, report findings, and ensure resolution through structured problem-solving methodologies with the production team
- Conduct regular analysis of production performance data — identifying development trends and improvement opportunities and communicating them clearly through visual management standards to the production and factory management team
- Continuously improve operational standards by facilitating and executing methodologies aligned with Continuous Improvement principles
- Regularly audit and monitor the operating system (SOS), taking the lead role for Continuous Improvement and Lean activities across the factory
- Strictly enforce company product quality rules and ensure full staff adherence to all defined quality parameters
People Management
- Recruit and select the right production staff in full alignment with company policies and workforce planning needs
- Build team skills through structured skills assessments, training programs, and ongoing performance feedback for direct reports
- Identify high-potential team members and support their progression and development within the production organization
- Lead the production team to ensure high engagement and strong performance, with a clear focus on problem-solving and teamwork
- Manage labor availability and ensure efficient workforce utilization in line with the production plan
Health & Safety Management
- Ensure safe operating practices by maintaining all Health and Safety policies and procedures, with strict adherence enforced across the production floor
- Personally demonstrate correct safety behaviors and review all Accident and Near Miss investigation reports, including corrective actions taken in line with company health and safety policy
- Participate actively in safety and quality audits, ensuring all non-conformances are properly documented and taking responsibility for completing resulting action plans
- Perform regular shift audits and monitor safety performance consistently across all production shifts
- Ensure risk assessments are completed and actioned in accordance with laid-down policies and procedures
- Foster a team culture of behavioral safety awareness aimed at reducing accidents and near misses across the factory
Quality Management
- Take full responsibility for quality control in line with company standards, making necessary adjustments to processes as required
- Reject any products produced outside of established product specifications to protect overall quality integrity
- Take decisive corrective action to consistently achieve first-time-right production outcomes at every level of the operation
Qualifications & Requirements
Core Technical Competencies
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize across strategic and operational production responsibilities
- Deep knowledge and practical understanding of Six Sigma and Lean methodology, with proven application in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills for communicating production performance and improvement initiatives to factory and senior management
- Strong MS Office proficiency combined with advanced ERP system experience for production planning, reporting, and data analysis
Leadership & Operational Skills
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop production teams within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in identifying and resolving production bottlenecks
- Solid understanding of health and safety management systems and quality control processes within industrial manufacturing settings
