Position Overview
The Quality Supervisor in Saudi Arabia is a shift-based, operationally focused food safety leadership role covering compliance, inspections, critical control point verification, hygiene standards, and staff training across food production and service operations. You will monitor adherence to HACCP principles, food safety management systems, and local municipality regulations, conduct routine non-conformity inspections, implement corrective actions, and submit daily quality reports. With hands-on independence during shifts and a collaborative team approach, this role is ideal for a motivated food science professional who is ready to take real ownership of food safety outcomes in a demanding but rewarding Saudi Arabia food industry environment.
Why This Role Matters: As Quality Supervisor in Saudi Arabia, you are the direct protector of food safety standards during every shift you lead. You will verify critical control points that safeguard consumer health — from storage and refrigeration temperatures to cooking and sanitation standards, conduct inspections that identify risks before they become compliance failures or product quality issues, deliver practical food safety training that raises the skill level of every team member you work alongside, maintain the daily documentation that demonstrates compliance to local Saudi municipality authorities, and build a meaningful supervisory career in one of the most important and growing sectors in the Kingdom.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Food Safety Compliance Monitoring
- Monitor compliance with quality and food safety standards consistently throughout all production and service operations during assigned shifts
- Verify and accurately record all critical control points — including storage temperatures, refrigeration, freezing, and cooking temperature parameters
- Ensure full compliance with local Saudi municipality food safety regulations across all operational areas under supervision
- Identify deviations from established quality and food safety standards quickly and implement appropriate corrective actions without delay
Hygiene, Sanitation & 5S Standards
- Ensure proper hygiene and sanitation practices are consistently maintained across all food preparation, storage, and service areas throughout the shift
- Enforce 5S workplace organisation standards — sort, set in order, shine, standardise, and sustain — across all operational zones
- Conduct routine hygiene and sanitation inspections, documenting findings and driving immediate corrective actions where standards are not met
- Promote a culture of hygiene ownership and personal responsibility among all staff across the shift
Inspection, Non-Conformity & Corrective Actions
- Conduct structured routine inspections across all operational areas — proactively identifying non-conformities before they escalate into quality failures
- Implement timely and effective corrective actions for all identified non-conformities, documenting each action taken clearly for shift records
- Support shift handovers with complete, accurate quality documentation — ensuring continuity of food safety oversight between outgoing and incoming supervisors
- Escalate systemic quality issues or repeat non-conformities to management with clear evidence and recommended preventive measures
Staff Training & Daily Reporting
- Provide practical on-the-job guidance and basic food safety training to production and service staff during every shift
- Support staff in understanding and correctly applying HACCP principles, hygiene standards, and food safety procedures in their daily tasks
- Submit comprehensive daily quality reports highlighting key observations, non-conformities identified, corrective actions taken, and CCP verification results
- Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation across all quality control and food safety records throughout the shift
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related scientific field is preferred for this Quality Supervisor role
- Additional food safety certifications — HACCP training, food handler certification, or equivalent — are a professional advantage
Experience
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance or Food Safety — preferably within catering, restaurants, or food manufacturing environments
- Good working knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety management systems applied in operational food service or production settings
- Familiarity with local Saudi municipality food safety regulations and the documentation requirements of regulatory inspections
Essential Skills
- Strong attention to detail — the ability to spot temperature deviations, hygiene lapses, and documentation gaps before they become compliance problems
- Ability to work independently during shifts and make confident, sound decisions on quality and food safety issues in real time
- Good communication and teamwork skills — comfortable providing practical guidance, correction, and training to colleagues in a professional and respectful manner
- Genuine eagerness to learn, develop, and grow professionally within a food safety supervisory career in Saudi Arabia
