Position Overview

The Project Engineer (Civil) role in Dubai is a senior site engineering position with full responsibility for managing and supervising day-to-day activities on high-rise building projects — with a specific and mandatory focus on façade installation works. You will coordinate across consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams simultaneously, monitor quality and safety compliance, track project schedules, and resolve technical site issues as they arise — all while keeping detailed progress records and maintaining clear communication with all project stakeholders.

This is a delivery-focused, contractor-side role that requires genuine hands-on façade experience and strong site execution capability. If you have supervised curtain wall, cladding, or building envelope installations on real high-rise projects and know exactly what it takes to keep a façade programme on track, this role was written for you.

Why This Role Matters: In Dubai’s high-rise construction sector, façade works represent one of the most technically complex, schedule-critical, and commercially high-stakes packages on any project. A Project Engineer who genuinely understands façade systems, installation sequencing, interface coordination, and quality compliance is exceptionally rare — and exceptionally valuable. This is your opportunity to be that engineer on a major Dubai project in 2026, with a contractor who has the pipeline and the reputation to build your career.

Key Responsibilities

Site Management & Daily Supervision

  • Manage and supervise all day-to-day site activities on assigned high-rise building projects — maintaining full visibility of work fronts, labour deployment, material deliveries, and construction progress across the site at all times
  • Coordinate effectively with consultants, nominated subcontractors, specialist façade contractors, and internal project teams to ensure smooth, uninterrupted project execution aligned with the approved programme and contract requirements
  • Monitor overall project progress continuously — tracking actual performance against the approved baseline programme and proactively identifying risks, delays, and constraints before they impact the critical path
  • Resolve technical and site-related issues as they arise — making timely, well-reasoned engineering decisions in coordination with the project manager, design team, and relevant subcontractors to keep the project moving forward

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Monitor and enforce quality standards across all construction and installation activities on-site — ensuring all work is executed strictly in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable UAE construction standards
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and hold point verifications — documenting findings, raising non-conformances, and following up to ensure corrective actions are implemented and formally closed out within required timeframes
  • Maintain full compliance with project health, safety, and environment (HSE) requirements on-site — enforcing the project’s safety management plan and promoting a proactive safety culture across all contractor and subcontractor teams
  • Review and assess contractor submissions including method statements, inspection and test plans, material submittals, and shop drawings — verifying compliance with project specifications before approving for construction

Façade Works Coordination & Supervision

  • Review and actively coordinate all façade installation works with the façade subcontractor, specialist consultants, main contractor teams, and structural engineer — ensuring the façade programme integrates seamlessly with the overall construction sequence
  • Oversee the practical execution of façade installation activities on-site — monitoring anchoring, panel installation, sealant application, interface detailing, and joint integrity against the approved façade engineer’s specifications and drawings
  • Manage façade-related interface issues between the building structure, MEP services, and architectural finishes — resolving clashes, sequencing conflicts, and technical discrepancies before they cause installation delays or rework
  • Coordinate façade performance testing activities including water penetration, air leakage, and structural loading tests — ensuring all required tests are planned, scheduled, witnessed, and formally documented within the project programme

Programme Planning & Reporting

  • Plan and actively track detailed work schedules for assigned project areas — breaking down the programme into weekly and monthly lookahead plans that give the team and management clear visibility of upcoming activities and resource requirements
  • Prepare accurate, well-structured progress reports for submission to project management, the client, and the consultant — covering construction progress, quality status, safety performance, façade programme, and outstanding actions
  • Maintain comprehensive and well-organised project documentation — including drawings registers, RFI logs, submittals trackers, inspection records, NCR registers, and correspondence files throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Identify and proactively escalate programme risks, technical issues, and resource constraints to the project manager — providing proposed solutions and mitigation options alongside each identified risk or challenge

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university — mandatory for this position
  • Additional certifications in project management (PMP or equivalent), façade engineering, or construction quality management are an advantage and will be viewed positively during candidate selection

Experience Requirements

  • 6–8 years of hands-on experience working with a main contractor on high-rise commercial and residential building projects — contractor-side experience is mandatory; consultant-only backgrounds will not meet this requirement
  • Hands-on façade works experience is a strict mandatory requirement — candidates must have directly supervised or managed façade installation activities (curtain wall, cladding, structural glazing, or equivalent) on high-rise building projects
  • Strong working knowledge of construction methodologies, project coordination, and site execution practices appropriate for complex, multi-storey building construction in the UAE market

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for reading, reviewing, and coordinating construction drawings — able to identify discrepancies, raise RFIs, and mark up drawings for site use independently
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office suite for report preparation, programme tracking, correspondence management, and documentation across the full project lifecycle
  • Familiarity with project management tools for schedule tracking, progress reporting, and resource management — Primavera P6 or MS Project experience is advantageous
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills — able to engage confidently with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities in a professional and solutions-focused manner
