Key Responsibilities
Microbiological Testing & Pathogen Detection
- Perform comprehensive microbiological analysis on raw materials, processing water, environmental samples, and finished beverage and powder products — using validated standard microbiological testing methods appropriate for the product category and regulatory requirements in Saudi Arabia
- Detect and accurately identify spoilage microorganisms including yeasts, molds, bacteria, and foodborne pathogens — applying specialist microbiological identification skills to protect product quality, consumer safety, and regulatory compliance across all beverage product categories
- Isolate, identify, and quantify microbial contaminants using established standard microbiological techniques — maintaining the highest levels of laboratory precision, accuracy, and reproducibility in all testing activities performed across the KSA manufacturing facility
- Perform quality control checks on culture media and laboratory reagents — ensuring that all microbiological testing materials meet performance specifications and that results generated are reliable, valid, and fit for regulatory and internal reporting purposes
Environmental Monitoring & Sanitation Verification
- Conduct routine environmental hygiene monitoring programs through surface swabs, air sampling, and sanitation verification activities — systematically assessing the microbiological cleanliness of production environments, equipment surfaces, and processing areas throughout the facility
- Evaluate the effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation programs including Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems — providing microbiological evidence that sanitation protocols are performing as designed and identifying any areas requiring corrective action or process improvement
- Monitor CIP system validation activities and contribute to the technical assessment of cleaning procedure effectiveness — supporting the production and sanitation teams with microbiological data that validates cleaning cycles and protects product integrity in beverage manufacturing
- Identify contamination sources through systematic environmental investigation — applying microbiological profiling, trend analysis, and root cause assessment methods to determine the origin of environmental contamination and implement effective corrective measures
Laboratory Quality Management & Documentation
- Maintain accurate, complete, and professionally organised laboratory records, microbiological test reports, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs) — ensuring full documentation integrity and traceability that supports regulatory compliance, internal audits, and customer quality assurance requirements
- Ensure strict compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), biosafety procedures, and laboratory quality standards across all daily microbiological operations — maintaining a safe, compliant, and professionally managed laboratory environment throughout
- Monitor and calibrate laboratory equipment including incubators, autoclaves, microscopes, and other microbiological testing instruments — ensuring all equipment remains within calibration and performs accurately throughout regular production and quality monitoring activities
- Support Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations with thorough, well-documented microbiological data — providing the technical foundation for quality decisions regarding product hold, release, disposal, and CAPA implementation across beverage and food manufacturing operations
QA Collaboration, Contamination Investigation & CAPA
- Collaborate closely with QA/QC and Production teams to investigate product spoilage events, contamination incidents, and out-of-specification microbiological results — providing expert microbiological input that supports rapid, evidence-based decision-making and effective product protection
- Investigate contamination sources and support comprehensive root cause analysis for microbiological deviations — applying structured investigative methodologies that identify the true origin of contamination and drive durable corrective action implementation
- Report microbiological deviations promptly to QA management — supporting product hold procedures, regulatory notifications as required, and the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) that prevent recurrence
- Contribute to shelf-life study programs and food safety management system improvements — providing microbiological expertise that enhances the robustness of the beverage manufacturer’s product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance framework
