- Monitor compliance with HACCP principles and all other applicable food safety standards and government regulations on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, temperature control and sanitation practices are followed by all food handlers at every stage of production and service.
- Monitor cleaning and sanitation programs across the facility and verify their effectiveness against established hygiene standards.
Inspections, Audits & Hazard Identification
- Conduct regular inspections of food preparation, storage and production areas to identify potential hazards, hygiene failures or SOP deviations.
- Conduct internal food safety audits and prepare structured inspection reports with documented findings and recommended corrective actions.
- Investigate food safety incidents, customer complaints and contamination risks — identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Coordinate with external auditors, regulatory agencies and food safety inspectors during formal inspections and certification reviews.
Corrective & Preventive Actions
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans to address food safety non-conformances, hazards and recurring hygiene issues.
- Coordinate with quality assurance, production and operations teams to address safety concerns and drive timely, effective corrective actions.
- Recommend improvements to food safety systems and operational procedures that reduce risk and enhance overall compliance performance.
- Ensure all government-required permits and certifications related to food safety are maintained in good standing at all times.
Employee Training & Food Safety Culture
- Train employees on food safety principles, sanitation procedures, personal hygiene and proper food handling practices across the facility.
- Build and sustain a strong food safety culture — ensuring that every team member understands their responsibilities and applies correct food safety practices consistently.
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure grooming, hygiene and personal protective equipment standards are upheld by all food handlers.
Documentation, Pest Control & Facility Hygiene
- Maintain accurate food safety records, inspection reports and regulatory documentation to support audit readiness and compliance at all times.
- Monitor pest control and waste management programs and verify that they meet food safety and facility hygiene requirements.
- Ensure that facility hygiene programs — covering all food production, storage and service areas — are implemented effectively and consistently throughout the operation.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Nutrition or a closely related field — mandatory requirement.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, sanitation protocols and food safety regulations applicable to Kuwait and the broader GCC region.
Experience Requirements
- Experience in food safety, quality assurance or food production operations is preferred — fresh graduates with strong academic food safety knowledge will also be considered.
- Experience with internal food safety auditing, corrective action management and regulatory inspection support is a strong advantage.
