Key Responsibilities
Daily Facility Operations & Customer Service
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the agronomy facility to provide patrons with prompt, courteous, and effective service while maintaining the operational efficiency needed to achieve maximum profit margins
- Supervise mixing, loading, and dispatch activities to ensure all product preparation and delivery operations run safely, accurately, and on schedule throughout the busy agricultural season
- Assist with sales activities and manage tasks for assigned customer accounts, building strong patron relationships through responsive, knowledgeable agronomy service and follow-through
Facility Asset & Equipment Management
- Manage all facility assets including routine maintenance programs, equipment and facility replacement planning, and regular driver equipment inspections to ensure operational reliability and safety
- Assist in establishing and implementing short-term operational goals, budgets, and plans that are consistent with the location’s long-range growth strategy for facility, equipment, and personnel development
- Communicate regularly with the location manager and draw on additional organizational resources — including branch managers, credit, marketing, and human resources — to maximize overall location profitability
Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
- Manage location risk comprehensively by ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulations including DOT requirements, state chemist records, driver records, and ongoing safety and emergency response training
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance standards are being consistently maintained across all operational areas of the Monticello agronomy facility
- Maintain accurate compliance documentation and records to support regulatory inspections and demonstrate the facility’s commitment to safety and operational responsibility
Crop Protection, Fertility & Agronomy Recommendations
- Assist in making expert crop protection and fertility recommendations for customer accounts using SSI, DataOnTouch, field plans, precision mapping tools, and comprehensive agronomic record-keeping systems
- Apply knowledge of crop diagnostics, crop protection products, seed selection, and fertility programs to solve real agronomic challenges in the fields of customers across the Indiana region
- Stay current with evolving crop science, pest and disease pressures, and new product technologies to provide customers with accurate, timely, and commercially sound agronomy recommendations
Inventory Management & Team Leadership
- Help maintain inventory levels that ensure reliable, timely service with minimal delivery delays while simultaneously achieving the facility’s established inventory turn goals and cost targets

Qualifications & Requirements
Licensing Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with hazmat endorsement is mandatory — this license must be current and in good standing at the time of application
- Category 1A pesticide applicators license is required for this position — demonstrating the regulatory authorization to apply and supervise the use of restricted-use agricultural chemicals
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, or a related agricultural field is preferred — equivalent progressive agronomy experience of 3 to 5 years will also be considered
