Position Overview

This Agronomy Specialist role is a practical, data-focused research position at the centre of Vylor’s field testing operations. The specialist works with station colleagues to set up experiments, coordinates with field contacts at cotton, corn, and soybean testing sites, prepares and sorts seed packets into planting order, plants plots, takes notes, uploads data using advanced technology, monitors in-field issues, and harvests plots to completion — using independent judgment along the way. The role also plans drone operations around restricted flight areas, builds flight plans from trait protocols, and monitors growing degree units to time flights. In the seed lab, the specialist helps with spreadsheet work, seed cleaning, sorting, inventory, and supervision of hourly employees. You will operate tractors, planters, combines, and other farm equipment, calibrate spray booms, and complete basic herbicide rate calculations, while taking part in safety committees and audits. A genuine curiosity about genetic marker data, applied ag biotechnology, statistics, and GPS/GIS systems will help you grow quickly here.

Why This Role Matters: Every advancement decision at a seed company rests on trustworthy field data. As Agronomy Specialist, your careful plot work, accurate note-taking, drone timing, and clean data uploads are what turn a growing season into reliable evidence — helping Vylor bring better-performing hybrids and varieties to farmers.
