Position Overview
This Assistant Quality Manager – Quality Operations role at Mayar covers end-to-end quality leadership across two geographies. In Saudi Arabia, you will monitor KSA warehouse compliance, supervise laboratory operations, and coordinate with internal functions on quality alignment. In India, you will govern supplier quality through Al Maha, conduct on-site audits, lead formal performance reviews, and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to closure. The role reports into the Senior Quality & Transformation Manager and acts as operational deputy in their absence.

Key Responsibilities
India Supplier Quality Governance
- Own and enforce the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all QC reports from Al Maha Team and third-party laboratories; challenge every discrepancy and drive corrective actions to closure
- Conduct periodic supplier audits and inspections at origin, including random sampling and on-site verification of milling, processing, and storage practices
- Lead formal performance reviews with Al Maha, enforcing accountability and implementation of corrective actions
- Conduct regular visits to India to engage directly with Al Maha and suppliers, validate on-ground quality practices, and represent Mayar’s quality standards
Supplier Qualification & Performance Management
- Support supplier qualification and evaluation processes, including audit participation, data analysis, and scorecard development
- Track and report supplier performance metrics: defect rates, complaints, SLA compliance, and rejection rates
- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) with suppliers and monitor implementation to closure
- Maintain and continuously improve the Supplier Quality Management framework, including evaluation criteria and audit protocols
Quality Issue Management & Escalation
- Own the tracking and resolution of all supplier-related quality deviations, complaints, and non-conformities
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring supplier quality failures, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and present supplier quality performance reports to senior management on a regular basis
Continuous Improvement – Supply Chain Quality
- Identify systemic quality gaps in the India supply chain and design corrective programmes
- Drive initiatives to reduce rejection rates, reprocessing costs, and inbound quality variability
- Standardize supplier audit criteria, QC reporting formats, and inspection protocols across all origins
- Leverage quality trend data to recommend data-driven improvements that enhance inbound product consistency
KSA Warehouse Quality Oversight & Lab Supervision
- Monitor compliance with quality standards across KSA warehouse operations covering storage, handling, and hygiene
- Validate integrity of warehouse inspection reports, fumigation records, and quality documentation
- Supervise daily lab operations, ensuring all testing is conducted per approved SOPs and standards
- Review and validate test results for raw materials and finished goods; ensure calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as deputy to the Senior Quality & Transformation Manager; make operational quality decisions in manager’s absence
- Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, operations, and sales teams on quality alignment
- Provide technical quality input to customer-related quality queries when required
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field
- Master’s degree is a desirable advantage
Experience Requirements
- 4–6 years in supplier quality, QC, or IMS management within an FMCG environment
- Experience in rice or grain commodity quality is strongly preferred
- Willingness to travel periodically to India for supplier audits, site visits, and performance reviews
Desirable Certifications & Attributes
- HACCP Practitioner or ISO 22000 Lead Auditor certification preferred
- Prior experience managing supplier relationships in India or South Asia; familiarity with Al Maha or similar sourcing structures is an advantage
- Arabic language skills are an advantage
