Position Overview
This Lead Fixed Income Strategist — MENA & GCC at Bloomberg Intelligence generates qualitative and quantitative research for Bloomberg’s global user base, leads all MENA and GCC fixed income strategy as the primary regional voice, works closely with the global credit strategy team and Bloomberg ecosystem partners, provides leadership, mentoring, and direction to Associate support, integrates frontier technologies including generative AI and automation to improve research efficiency, and delivers research through curated Bloomberg Terminal dashboards and interactive research decks — covering regional debt markets, GCC fixed income, and emerging market credit strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Fixed Income Research & Strategy Leadership
- Generate qualitative and quantitative fixed income research for Bloomberg’s global user base via the Bloomberg Terminal
- Lead all MENA and GCC fixed income strategy — serving as Bloomberg Intelligence’s primary regional voice for debt markets
- Work closely with the global credit strategy team and Bloomberg ecosystem partners to deliver best-in-class regional research
- Cover regional debt markets, GCC sovereign and corporate credit, and emerging market fixed income perspectives
Data Management & AI-Powered Research
- Demonstrate adept data management, curation, and derivation skills across regional fixed income datasets
- Integrate frontier technologies including generative AI and automation to improve research efficiency, quality, and data-driven analysis
- Leverage Bloomberg data and the Bloomberg family of indices throughout all research outputs
- Deliver research through curated Terminal dashboards and interactive research decks with underlying data one click away
Leadership, Mentoring & Collaboration
- Provide leadership, mentoring, guiding, teaching, and workflow direction to Associate support
- Develop professional and collaborative relationships with peers, colleagues, and cross-team Bloomberg partners
- Communicate research findings with exceptional written and verbal communication skills for global audiences
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience analysing and/or trading fixed income in the MENA, GCC, or emerging markets asset class
- Exceptional communication skills — written and verbal — for a global professional research audience
- Independent thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to build and grow a regional franchise
- Strong familiarity with Bloomberg data and the Bloomberg family of indices
- Ability and willingness to integrate generative AI and automation into research workflows
- Bachelor’s Degree as a minimum
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field
- Strong knowledge of the Bloomberg Terminal and Bloomberg Indices
- Strong Excel and/or Python programming skills for data-driven research and modelling
