We are seeking a Junior Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO) in the United Arab Emirates, who trains and works under the direct supervision of the Senior DPO. The DPO maintains the vessel on station for operations while on location, monitors position while underway, and continuously oversees all systems critical for DP operations.

Position Overview
This Dynamic Positioning Operator role involves operating the automated and fixed station keeping system of the vessel, coordinating with the Master and Rig Manager to move on or off location, and monitoring the DP System to maintain the desired position over the well during drilling operations. You will maintain communications with the drill floor, engine room, and ROV, advise on potential position loss, and assist with preventative maintenance on DP equipment.

Key Responsibilities
DP Operations & Station Keeping
- Operate the automated and fixed station keeping system of the vessel
- Coordinate with Master and Rig Manager for starting or securing DP Systems
- Monitor the DP System and associated equipment to maintain desired position over the well
- Optimize vessel position and heading to minimize vessel force required
Communication & Watchkeeping
- Serve as Navigational Watch Officer when relieved from DP duty
- Maintain constant communication with rig floor, ROV, and Engine Control Room
- Advise the Driller and Master of potential position loss
- Monitor weather and met ocean conditions to anticipate changes in vessel forces
Maintenance, Administration & Safety
- Assist in preventative maintenance on DP equipment and system components
- Maintain required forms, logs, and checklists in a professional and timely manner
- Follow FMEA, WSOG, DP Operations Manual, Standing Orders, and Night Orders
- Implement and uphold safety and environmental compliance requirements
 Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Transportation preferred
Experience Requirements
- 1+ years of experience on DP vessels and in an industrial marine environment
Certification Requirements
- Unlimited DPO certificate issued by the Nautical Institute
- USCG Unlimited Tonnage Any Oceans Third Mate’s License, or equivalent
- Completion of all training requirements for the position within designated time period
Essential Skills
- Proficient in office applications, dynamic positioning control systems, and related systems
- Knowledge of DP processing, reference systems, thrusters, and vessel operations manuals
- Basic understanding of drilling operations, well-control, and ROV operations
