Position Overview
The Europe Supply Chain Manager at AVI-SPL Dreieich is a senior member of the Global Supply Chain Team, responsible for overseeing the strategy and implementation of Logistics, Warehousing, and Inventory standards across all European locations. This hands-on yet strategic role covers ASCM standard implementation, warehouse inefficiency identification and correction, European supply chain network optimisation, transport vendor selection and diversification, SOP governance and KPI establishment, and cross-functional support for warehouse leaders, procurement, and sales. The ideal candidate combines high-level strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability — comfortable pivoting between greenfield planning and operational delivery across multiple European markets.

Key Responsibilities
Standards, Best Practices & ASCM Alignment
- Ensure implementation of ASCM-aligned supply chain methods across all European markets — ensuring adoption and maintenance of best practices, monitoring compliance, and reinforcing consistency
- Support sustainable process execution across the European region — embedding proven supply chain standards into daily operations and team behaviours
- Develop, optimise, and enforce Logistics, Warehousing, and Inventory SOPs and policies — establishing KPIs to measure warehouse performance and tracking compliance rigorously
- Document all required operational changes, track completion of corrective actions, and ensure accountability across the European supply chain function
Warehouse Optimisation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies across multiple European warehouses and oversee the implementation of targeted countermeasures — tracking progress and ensuring corrective actions deliver measurable results
- Help embed a culture of continuous improvement into daily warehouse operations — driving efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness across all locations
- Assess European warehousing operations including store-pick-pack-ship processes and 3PL standards — recommending and implementing structural and process improvements
- Apply Lean Six Sigma and analytical methodologies to define and implement countermeasures across multiple warehouse locations simultaneously
Network Optimisation & Transportation Management
- Lead European Supply Chain network assessments and execution — implementing improvements across transportation flows, warehouse interactions, and 3PL activity to support operational and cost-efficiency goals
- Ensure correct transport vendor selection to meet service and cost targets — diversifying the carrier portfolio, analysing shipping data, running competitive bids, and onboarding final-mile partners
- Implement SLAs with transport partners, re-qualify existing vendors, and expand capacity with new qualified providers — building a robust, flexible European transport network
- Oversee import and export activities to enhance margin and improve customer delivery performance across all European markets
Cross-Functional Support & Stakeholder Leadership
- Support the VP, Global Supply Chain on Europe-related process changes — providing clear, data-driven recommendations and execution leadership
- Advise warehouse leaders, collaborate closely with Procurement, and assist Sales teams with complex project logistics estimates and supply chain requirements
- Maintain DIFOT (Delivered In Full On Time) performance levels and produce regular reports for internal stakeholders and leadership review
- Engage stakeholders internally and externally with clarity, organisational strength, and a customer-service orientation that drives trust and performance
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field — preferred for this Europe Supply Chain Manager role
- ASCM certifications (CSCP, CLTD, CPIM, or CTSC) and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt are significant advantages
Experience Requirements
- Extensive leadership experience in Logistics and Supply Chain — including both asset-based and outsourced transportation management
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing teams with multiple management layers in an international environment
- Demonstrated experience leading complex operational transformation programmes — with the ability to travel to offices and warehouses across Europe as required
Essential Skills
- Fluent written and spoken German and English — both languages are used regularly within the international Global Supply Chain Team
- Strategic and tactical agility — able to pivot seamlessly between high-level planning and hands-on operational execution across European markets
