Position Overview
This Food Production Intern role supports the verification of Critical Control Points, Operational Pre-requisite programs, and pre-requisite programs (CCPs, OPRPs, and PRPs) established under the Hazard Control Plan. You will perform food sample collection for microbiology analysis, support food safety data gathering and monitoring, conduct personal hygiene verification of food handlers, support administrative tasks within the Microbiology laboratory and Food Safety section, and assist with customer complaint investigations and traceability exercises.

Key Responsibilities
Food Safety Verification
- Support verification of CCPs, OPRPs, and PRPs established per the Hazard Control Plan
- Perform food sample collection for microbiology analysis in line with the agreed sampling plan
Data & Records Management
- Support food safety data gathering and maintenance of monitoring information
- Support food safety administration, including maintenance of monitoring and verification registers
Hygiene & Equipment Verification
- Conduct personal hygiene verification of food handlers and report deviations
- Support scheduled thermometer verification to ensure temperature monitoring equipment accuracy
Laboratory Support & Investigations
- Support administrative tasks of the Microbiology laboratory and Food Safety section
- Support customer complaint investigation and traceability exercises, gathering evidence and documentation
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Level 2 Food Safety Training (must have)
- Food Safety Level 3 (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a background in science (preferred)
Experience
- Experience in food production or a related field will be an added advantage
Essential Skills
- Good communication skills and fluency in English
- Ability to contribute effectively within a team environment
- Ability to independently plan and prioritize own tasks
