Position Overview

This Food Safety & Hygiene Officer role is a critical leadership position within a multi-unit hospitality and wellness group in Qatar. You will be responsible for ensuring 100% compliance with Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) regulations, implementing and monitoring HACCP plans and ISO 22000 standards, conducting audits and inspections across all outlet locations, and leading staff training programs. This is a hands-on, high-impact role requiring deep knowledge of Qatar’s food safety regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & MoPH Standards

  • Ensure 100% compliance with Qatar Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) food safety laws and regulations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Qatar’s regulatory framework and apply it consistently across all units
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and manage all MoPH inspections and documentation requirements
  • Ensure all outlets meet legal food safety and hygiene requirements at all times without exception

Audits, Inspections & HACCP Implementation

  • Conduct regular audits and hygiene inspections across multiple restaurant outlets and wellness facilities
  • Implement, monitor, and continuously improve HACCP plans across all food handling operations
  • Apply and maintain ISO 22000 food safety management standards throughout the organization
  • Identify non-conformances, manage corrective actions, and track resolution to completion

Staff Training & Incident Management

  • Lead and deliver comprehensive food safety and hygiene training programs for all staff levels
  • Manage food safety incidents, investigate root causes, and implement preventive measures
  • Build a strong safety culture across the hospitality and wellness team through consistent training
  • Develop and maintain training records, SOPs, and food safety documentation systems

Supplier Quality & Supply Chain Safety

  • Oversee supplier quality management and ensure supply chain food safety standards are consistently met
  • Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to verify compliance with food safety requirements
  • Manage approved supplier lists and ensure all incoming food products meet hygiene specifications
  • Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to maintain safe and compliant supply chains

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Environmental Health, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline
  • Additional academic qualifications in public health or food technology are a strong advantage

Certifications

  • Level 3 or Level 4 Food Safety certification from CIEH or RSPH is required
  • HACCP certification and/or ISO 22000 Food Safety Management certification is required
  • Additional certifications in environmental health or food auditing are highly desirable

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in food safety roles within hotels, restaurants, or food service operations
  • GCC or Qatar-specific experience is strongly preferred due to MoPH regulatory knowledge requirements
  • Proven track record of successfully managing HACCP systems and regulatory compliance in multi-unit environments

Essential Skills & Knowledge

  • Deep knowledge of Qatar’s regulatory framework, MoPH guidelines, and GCC food safety laws
  • Strong auditing, inspection, and report-writing skills across multi-site operations
  • Excellent training, communication, and people management skills across diverse teams
  • Ability to manage multiple locations simultaneously while maintaining strict compliance standards
