Position Overview
The Food Safety Officer in Dubai is a compliance-driven quality assurance role responsible for ensuring that all food handling, processing, and storage activities fully meet HACCP, ISO 22000, and food hygiene regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
HACCP & Food Safety Compliance
- Monitor and verify all Critical Control Points (CCPs) as defined in the HACCP plan, ensuring corrective actions are applied whenever deviations are detected
- Ensure all food operations comply fully with HACCP principles, ISO 22000 food safety management system requirements, and applicable Dubai/UAE food hygiene regulations
- Conduct regular food safety audits, inspections, and hygiene checks across production, storage, and food handling areas
- Review and update food safety procedures, work instructions, and HACCP documentation to reflect operational changes and regulatory updates
Food Hygiene Monitoring & Inspections
- Carry out routine food hygiene inspections of all food preparation, handling, and storage areas to identify risks and non-conformances
- Monitor temperature controls, personal hygiene practices, cleaning and sanitation procedures, and pest control measures to ensure full compliance at all times
- Verify that all food products are stored, handled, labeled, and date-marked in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Inspect incoming raw materials and ingredients for quality, compliance, and safe handling upon delivery
Documentation, Reporting & Corrective Actions
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date food safety records, inspection reports, temperature logs, and traceability documentation for regulatory and audit purposes
- Prepare clear and well-structured food safety compliance reports for management on a regular basis
- Identify food safety non-conformances, document findings, and implement or recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions promptly
- Support internal food safety audits and regulatory inspections by Dubai Municipality or other relevant authorities
Staff Training & Food Safety Culture
- Conduct food safety and hygiene awareness training for food handlers and production staff on a regular basis
- Promote a strong food safety culture across all departments through consistent communication, coaching, and on-floor engagement
- Ensure all team members understand and follow personal hygiene, allergen management, cross-contamination prevention, and food safety protocols
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a closely related field
- Valid HACCP Certification is mandatory for this role
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on food safety experience in a food production, hospitality, catering, or food retail environment
