Position Overview
This Food Safety Officer role at Al-Qadsiah Club is a senior, compliance-critical position for an experienced food safety professional who wants to combine their technical expertise with a unique and prestigious sports environment. Based in Khobar and reporting to the HSE Lead and Operations Director, you will be the club’s primary authority on food hygiene, HACCP implementation, SFDA regulatory compliance, and food safety culture across the entire operation. From routine kitchen inspections and staff training to match-day event catering oversight and supplier audits, this role is broad, high-impact, and genuinely important.

Key Responsibilities
1. Food Safety & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and continuously monitor Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) aligned with Saudi regulatory standards
- Ensure full compliance with SFDA (Saudi Food & Drug Authority) and all applicable municipal health regulations across club facilities
- Implement and maintain HACCP-based procedures across all food production and service areas
- Conduct regular food safety inspections across kitchens, concessions, VIP suites, and event catering areas
2. Monitoring & Auditing
- Perform scheduled and unannounced internal audits of kitchens, concession stands, VIP hospitality areas, and all event catering operations
- Identify non-conformities and implement effective corrective actions within defined timeframes
- Maintain accurate temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and pest control records
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for all external regulatory audits and SFDA inspections
3. Training & Awareness
- Design and deliver food hygiene and food handling training programs for all kitchen staff, catering teams, and vendors
- Ensure every food handler holds and maintains a valid health certificate as required by Saudi law
- Promote and embed a strong, proactive food safety culture throughout the entire organisation
4. Risk Management
- Investigate all food safety incidents thoroughly and implement robust preventive measures to avoid recurrence
- Manage allergen control procedures and ensure full labeling compliance across all food products served at the club
- Ensure safe food storage, preparation, and transportation during all match days and major events
5. Supplier & Vendor Oversight
- Approve, audit, and continuously evaluate all food suppliers and external catering vendors supplying the club
- Ensure all incoming raw materials fully meet the club’s quality, safety, and Halal compliance standards
- Monitor and document all receiving, storage, and distribution processes for food and beverage items
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational & Certification Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Public Health, or a closely related field
- HACCP certification at Level 3 or above — mandatory; higher levels strongly preferred
- Professional certification in ISO 22000 or NEBOSH Food Safety is preferred and will be a strong advantage
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in food safety, preferably in hospitality, large-scale catering, or sports facilities
Technical Knowledge
- Strong, current knowledge of Saudi food safety regulations, SFDA requirements, and municipal health inspection standards
- Excellent documentation, record-keeping, and technical reporting skills
- Strong practical communication and food safety training delivery abilities
- Fluency in both Arabic and English preferred for effective communication with diverse teams and regulatory bodies
