Position Overview
The Head of Supply Chain Management in Bavaria will bear full responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the entire supply chain — including procurement, production planning, sales administration, business processes, and both internal and external logistics. You will lead and develop supply chain teams and team leaders, build KPI-driven reporting systems, drive purchasing strategies and supplier management, optimize production planning for capacity and delivery performance, manage intralogistics and external logistics partners, ensure legally compliant shipping, export, and customs processes, and initiate and implement improvement, standardization, and digitalization projects across the full supply chain. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership
- Assume full overall responsibility for the complete supply chain including procurement, production planning, sales administration, business processes, and both internal and external logistics operations
- Develop and actively shape purchasing strategies, supplier management frameworks, and negotiation outcomes that deliver optimal commercial results for the organization
- Build and continuously develop a KPI-driven reporting system to effectively manage and communicate performance, growth, and delivery capability to all relevant stakeholders
- Ensure transparent and cross-functional communication with Production, Sales, Engineering, Finance, Quality Management, and the Management Board (Geschäftsführung) at all times
Production Planning & Inventory Optimization
- Optimize production planning with regard to capacities, stock levels, delivery dates, and resource utilization to maximize efficiency and customer delivery performance
- Ensure economical and on-schedule material supply across all production operations — preventing shortages while managing inventory costs and minimizing waste
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Sales teams to align production schedules with demand forecasts, customer requirements, and operational capacity
- Participate actively in forecast and budget planning processes — providing accurate supply chain data and insights to support informed organizational decision-making
Logistics, Export & Customs Management
- Manage and develop both intralogistics operations and external logistics service providers — ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability across the complete logistics network
- Ensure legally compliant shipping, export, and customs processes in accordance with all applicable German, European, and international trade regulations
- Evaluate and optimize external logistics partnerships — conducting regular performance reviews and driving contractual and operational improvements where needed
- Ensure all logistics documentation, customs declarations, and export compliance records are accurate, complete, and maintained to the highest professional and regulatory standards
Team Leadership, Change Management & Digitalization
- Lead, develop, and motivate all subordinate team leaders and their teams — fostering a modern, communicative, and values-driven leadership culture throughout the supply chain organization
- Initiate and implement improvement, standardization, and digitalization projects along the entire supply chain — driving measurable operational and financial benefits for the organization

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering (Maschinenbau), Industrial Engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen), Business Administration, or a comparable relevant qualification
- Additional certifications in supply chain management, logistics, or project management are a valued professional advantage for this senior leadership role
Experience Requirements
- Several years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Value Chain Management, Logistics Management, or Customer Service within the process or manufacturing industry
