You will ensure the hospital’s IPC program meets all DOH and JCI regulatory and accreditation requirements, reduce healthcare-associated infections through evidence-based practices, and work hand-in-hand with clinical leadership to continuously improve patient safety outcomes across the organization.

Why This Role Matters: In a JCI-accredited hospital serving military personnel, their families, and the wider Northern Emirates community, infection prevention is not a back-office function — it is the foundation of patient safety. As IPC Practitioner at M42, your surveillance work, clinical guidance, and staff training directly prevent healthcare-associated infections that can harm the most vulnerable patients. Every protocol you implement and every audit you conduct contributes to saving lives and protecting the hospital’s world-class accreditation status.

 Key Responsibilities

Infection Surveillance & Reporting

  • Monitor, investigate, and report healthcare-associated infections in full accordance with DOH and JCI standards
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance activities, analyze infection trends, and support timely corrective and preventive action implementation
  • Prepare detailed IPC reports for clinical leadership and quality management teams with actionable recommendations

Infection Prevention Best Practices

  • Provide clinical expertise on isolation precautions, device-associated infection reduction strategies, and environmental hygiene protocols
  • Oversee sterilization practices and ensure all decontamination processes meet regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Lead outbreak response planning and real-time management when infection incidents occur within the facility

Staff Education & Competency Development

  • Facilitate comprehensive staff education programs to promote adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
  • Assess clinical and non-clinical staff competency in IPC practices and develop targeted training to address gaps
  • Build a strong culture of infection awareness and personal protective practice across all hospital departments

Clinical & Leadership Collaboration

  • Partner with clinical and facility leadership to evaluate infection risks and support departmental IPC audits
  • Drive continuous improvement in infection control performance across all hospital units and service areas
  • Collaborate with the quality team to ensure IPC findings are integrated into hospital-wide safety improvement plans

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Epidemiology, Microbiology, Medical Technology, Public Health, or another healthcare science field
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field is preferred for senior applicants

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience in Infection Control and Prevention in any patient care environment
  • Minimum two years of direct patient care experience in a clinical setting

Certification & Licensing

  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required for this position
  • DOH or DHA nursing license is strongly preferred — candidates with active UAE licensure will be prioritized
