Position Overview
The Lab Chemist role at Gulf Chemicals & Industrial Oils is a full-time, on-site position based in the 2nd Industrial City of Dammam, Eastern Province. The successful candidate will be responsible for the chemical analysis of incoming raw material samples, conducting in-process sample testing throughout the production cycle, and maintaining complete and accurate ISO-compliant laboratory documentation. This role requires strong analytical chemistry skills, a meticulous approach to quality control procedures, and a clear understanding of industrial chemical processes and laboratory safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Raw Material Sample Analysis
- Conduct thorough chemical analysis of incoming raw material samples to verify compliance with company and client specifications
- Apply standard analytical chemistry techniques and laboratory instruments to accurately characterize raw material properties
- Document all raw material analysis results in accordance with GCIR’s quality management and ISO documentation requirements
- Identify and flag non-conforming raw materials and escalate findings to the quality control team for appropriate action
In-Process Sample Testing
- Perform chemical analysis of in-process samples at defined production checkpoints throughout the manufacturing cycle
- Monitor chemical properties and quality parameters during production to ensure consistent product quality and specification compliance
- Communicate in-process test results promptly to production teams to enable timely adjustments and prevent quality deviations
- Maintain accurate in-process testing logs and records to support traceability and ISO audit requirements
ISO Documentation & Quality Management
- Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date ISO-compliant laboratory documentation for all testing activities
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all laboratory analyses, equipment use, and documentation processes
- Support internal and external ISO audits by preparing relevant documentation and records as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory procedures and documentation systems in line with ISO standards
Laboratory Operations & Safety
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment in safe, calibrated, and properly functioning condition
- Follow all laboratory safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
- Ensure laboratory cleanliness, chemical storage compliance, and waste disposal in accordance with safety regulations
- Support the lab team in maintaining a well-organized, efficient, and quality-focused laboratory working environment
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field
- Strong academic foundation in analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, or industrial chemistry is preferred
Experience Requirements
- 3 to 4 years of hands-on laboratory experience in a chemical analysis, quality control, or industrial manufacturing environment
- Prior experience working with industrial chemicals, oils, or related chemical manufacturing sectors is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with raw material testing, in-process quality checks, and ISO laboratory documentation practices
