Position Overview

This Food Safety Coordinator role is an urgent full-time position based in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing workplace safety programs, conducting safety inspections, audits and investigations, identifying hazards, and creating action plans to eliminate risks. You will maintain HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory frameworks while driving a strong food safety culture across the organization.

 Key Responsibilities

Safety Programs & Hazard Prevention

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and illnesses in food manufacturing environments
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and investigations to identify workplace hazards
  • Create and execute action plans to mitigate or fully eliminate identified risks
  • Maintain a proactive food safety culture across all operational departments

Compliance & Regulatory Audits

  • Maintain, implement, and continuously improve HACCP, GMP, and other applicable regulatory frameworks
  • Schedule, coordinate, and host third-party audits and health department inspections
  • Ensure full compliance with Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and international food safety standards
  • Monitor regulatory updates and integrate new requirements into existing food safety systems

Staff Training & Food Hygiene Education

  • Educate and train employees on proper personal hygiene practices and safe food preparation techniques
  • Conduct cross-contamination prevention training programs across all production teams
  • Develop training materials and conduct regular refresher sessions to maintain compliance awareness
  • Build a knowledge-driven food safety workforce aligned with international best practices

Quality Control & Monitoring

  • Monitor product flow throughout the production line to identify and eliminate potential contamination risks
  • Oversee temperature logs, sanitation schedules, and pest control reports to ensure compliance
  • Conduct internal quality assessments and report findings to management with corrective action plans
  • Maintain product quality standards from raw material intake through to final product distribution

Documentation & Record-Keeping

  • Manage comprehensive record-keeping systems for regulatory agencies and internal quality metrics
  • Maintain documentation protocols for product recalls, corrective actions, and safety incidents
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports for health department inspections and third-party food safety audits
  • Ensure all ISO documentation and food safety records are up-to-date and audit-ready at all times

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience Requirements

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or food industry operations
  • Proven track record of managing HACCP, GMP, and food safety compliance programs
  • Prior experience coordinating third-party audits and regulatory inspections is highly valued

Certifications & Legal Requirements

  • PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification is frequently required or strongly preferred
  • Transferable Iqama — must be valid and not expired
  • Ability to join immediately upon offer acceptance
