Key Responsibilities
Water Quality Operations, Treatment & Systems Management
- Manage all Water Quality operations and associated water treatment facilities — overseeing water treatment, filtration, circulation, and chemical dosing systems across the full scope of Atlantis, The Palm’s pools, water features, spas, fountains, and world-class waterpark water systems
- Ensure periodic testing, analysis, and monitoring of water quality parameters — implementing systematic water quality surveillance protocols that maintain the highest standards of water safety, clarity, and chemical balance across all aquatic environments within the resort
- Maintain uninterrupted operation of all swimming pools, spas, water features, fountains, and waterpark water systems — achieving the operational continuity standard that guests at one of the world’s most visited luxury resorts expect and that Atlantis, The Palm’s reputation demands
- Implement preventive maintenance strategies to maximise system reliability and efficiency — applying advanced knowledge in systematic review and troubleshooting of LSS water filtration, technical systems, and public pools to prevent failures before they create operational or compliance issues
Compliance, Safety & Regulatory Management
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, Dubai Municipality requirements, and applicable health regulations — maintaining the water quality, public health, and safety standards required by Dubai’s regulatory authorities for large-scale public aquatic facilities and luxury resort water systems
- Maintain accurate records of testing, inspections, certifications, and regulatory submissions — ensuring the Water Quality Department’s documentation meets Dubai Municipality audit standards and supports the resort’s regulatory compliance posture across all water systems
- Promote safe work practices and ensure proper use of PPE and safety procedures — investigating incidents and implementing corrective and preventive actions that maintain the highest health, safety, and environmental standards across all water treatment and pool operations activities
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews — representing the Water Quality Department’s operational standards and regulatory compliance record to Dubai Municipality inspectors, internal auditors, and senior resort management
Budget Management, CAPEX Planning & Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Assist in preparing departmental budgets and forecasts — contributing to the Water Quality Department’s financial planning with accurate cost projections for chemicals, equipment, maintenance, and labour that reflect operational requirements and efficiency improvement opportunities
- Support CAPEX planning, project justification, implementation, and monitoring — providing technical input and business justification for capital investments in water treatment infrastructure, chemical dosing technology, and system upgrades that improve reliability, efficiency, and compliance
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Health & Safety, and external authorities — ensuring effective technical communication and coordination across all internal and external stakeholders with an interest in water quality, safety, and operational continuity
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations on water quality matters — acting as the resort’s subject matter expert and internal consultant on all matters relating to pool chemistry, water treatment technology, regulatory compliance, and aquatic facility management best practice
Team Leadership, HR & Colleague Development
- Conduct performance reviews and establish development plans for team members — building the Water Quality team’s technical capability, professional motivation, and operational reliability through structured performance management, training, and coaching processes aligned with Kerzner’s HR frameworks
- Coordinate workforce planning, recruitment, training, and succession planning — ensuring the Water Quality Department is appropriately staffed with technically capable colleagues, with development pathways that support talent retention in a competitive Dubai hospitality labour market

Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Water Treatment, Facilities Management, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years in a leadership or management role — with demonstrated team management capability and accountability for operational performance and departmental outcomes
- Advanced knowledge in systematic review and troubleshooting of LSS water filtration, technical systems, and public pools — the core technical competency for managing Atlantis’s large-scale pool and waterpark water treatment infrastructure
- Experience in hospitality, waterparks, large-scale pools, or recreational water systems — preferred for understanding the unique operational, regulatory, and service standards of luxury resort aquatic facility management
