Position Overview
The Microbiologist in Dubai, UAE is a full-time laboratory role responsible for conducting comprehensive microbiological testing and analysis on raw materials, finished products and environmental samples — ensuring product quality, food safety and regulatory compliance through accurate, timely and well-documented scientific analysis. This professional prepares culture media, performs bacteria, yeast and mold analysis, supports quality control and quality assurance functions, conducts environmental and hygiene monitoring, maintains laboratory documentation and reports, and operates in strict compliance with all applicable SOPs and safety procedures. Key Responsibilities
Microbiological Testing & Sample Analysis
- Conduct microbiological testing and comprehensive sample analysis across all assigned test categories — ensuring all analytical results are accurate, reproducible and delivered within agreed turnaround times.
- Test raw materials and finished products for microbiological compliance — evaluating samples against established microbiological specifications and reporting any out-of-specification results immediately to the quality team.
- Perform bacteria, yeast and mold analysis using appropriate laboratory methods and culture techniques — applying correct identification procedures to accurately characterize microbiological contamination when detected.
- Prepare culture media and laboratory materials required for microbiological testing — ensuring all media is correctly prepared, quality-checked and available to support uninterrupted testing operations across all shifts.
Quality Control, QA & Environmental Monitoring
- Support quality control and quality assurance functions across the laboratory and production facility — contributing microbiological expertise to QC programs, product release decisions and non-conformance investigations.
- Conduct environmental monitoring and hygiene testing across food production, pharmaceutical or laboratory areas — sampling surfaces, air and equipment in accordance with the environmental monitoring program schedule.
- Identify and report hygiene monitoring results that exceed alert or action limits — supporting rapid investigation and corrective action implementation to prevent product contamination and regulatory non-compliance.
- Maintain strict compliance with all applicable SOPs, safety procedures and laboratory best practices — ensuring every activity is performed to the correct procedure, every time, without exception.
Laboratory Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate, complete and audit-ready laboratory documentation for all microbiological testing activities — including test request forms, raw data records, analytical worksheets and final test reports.
- Prepare and submit microbiological test reports in a timely manner — ensuring laboratory management, QA teams and relevant stakeholders receive accurate results within agreed reporting timelines.
- Document all environmental monitoring data, equipment calibration records and SOP compliance activities — maintaining a comprehensive, well-organized laboratory records system that supports internal audits and external inspections.
