Key Responsibilities & Laboratory Duties
ISO 17025 Management System Implementation
- Participate and assist in implementing ISO 17025 management system requirements
- Support maintenance and continuous improvement of laboratory management system
- Identify deviations from ISO 17025 standards and laboratory procedures
- Assist initiating corrective actions to prevent procedure deviations
- Report on management system performance to laboratory leadership
- Ensure effectiveness of all laboratory activities and testing protocols
Microbiological Testing & Analysis
- Perform routine and assigned microbiological analyses per monitoring and control plans
- Conduct environmental testing of laboratory and production areas
- Perform water and utilities microbiological analysis and testing
- Conduct probiotics testing and microbiological assessments
- Execute product microbiological testing according to approved protocols
- Maintain testing accuracy and analytical excellence standards
Recording, Reporting & Documentation
- Record analysis results properly, correctly, and timely into control record sheets
- Timely inform about analysis results and product status to management
- Maintain all laboratory records and data up-to-date and readily available
- Assist laboratory leadership in reporting and documentation activities
- Keep environmental and equipment temperature records current
- Document all testing activities with precise details and findings
GLP Compliance & Safety Standards
- Strictly follow Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines during all analysis
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and procedures rigorously
- Maintain laboratory safety standards and personal protective equipment usage
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory safety requirements
- Follow established protocols for hazardous material handling
Equipment Calibration & Maintenance
- Perform calibration and monitoring of laboratory equipment and devices
- Keep detailed calibration records and maintenance logs
- Inform superiors of any equipment problems or malfunctions immediately
- Ensure instruments remain in perfect working order at all times
- Monitor temperature of laboratory and relevant equipment consistently
- Support equipment maintenance activities and repairs
Continuous Improvement & Leadership Activities
- Participate in identifying risks and opportunities for lab system improvement
- Lead and participate in proficiency testing activities
- Highlight deviations from laboratory standards and propose action plans
- Assist laboratory leadership in reporting and management activities
- Assume responsibility for all laboratory activities in leader’s absence
- Inform superiors of abnormalities in production or laboratory operations
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Intermediate Science degree or equivalent qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Food Technology, or Microbiology
- Bachelor’s degree in related scientific or laboratory field
- Diploma in Laboratory Science or Microbiology (with relevant experience)
Professional Experience Requirements
- 2-4 years relevant experience in laboratory testing
- Minimum 1+ years of work experience with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
- Background in microbiological testing and analysis
- Experience with food safety laboratory operations
- Proven laboratory testing methodology and protocol adherence
Technical Knowledge & Certifications
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards
- Understanding of ISO 17025 management system requirements
- Expertise in microbiological testing procedures and techniques
- Knowledge of related laboratory equipment and instrumentation
- Familiarity with microbiological analysis methods and protocols
