 Position Overview
This MPD Operator role involves operating the MPD system for MPD applications, pressurized mud cap drilling, and underbalanced drilling, working with operational personnel to maintain planned operational limits within the influx management envelope. You will assist with drilling connections, formation integrity tests, and logging, create accurate daily reports, perform routine MPD calculations, and assist with equipment maintenance, overhaul, and spare parts planning.

 Key Responsibilities
MPD System Operation & Well Monitoring
- Operate the MPD system for MPD applications, pressurized mud cap drilling, and underbalanced drilling
- Monitor the well and ensure planned operational limits in the influx management envelope are maintained
- Assist with drilling, connections, dynamic formation integrity tests, logging, and cementing
- Perform routine MPD calculations and create accurate daily and end-of-well reports
Maintenance, Troubleshooting & Equipment Care
- Assist in setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MPD systems and support equipment
- Assist with preservation and lubrication of MPD equipment in storage or not in use
- Conduct equipment overhaul and record maintenance activities in the electronic maintenance system
- Forward plan and submit purchase requisitions for spare parts, tools, and materials
Safety, Compliance & Training
- Ensure well control equipment and activities meet corporate, local, and client regulations
- Review OEM bulletins and well control equipment alerts for regional relevance
- Actively participate in offsite DWOP, HAZID, and training exercises
- Adhere to and participate in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures
 Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- 3+ years of technical background in managed pressure drilling and support systems
- 2+ years of experience in managed pressure drilling operations
- Ability to operate below tension ring managed pressure drilling systems
Essential Skills
- Familiarity with active control devices or rotary control devices and hydraulic downhole models
- Hydraulic, electronics, and mechanical troubleshooting experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Valid well control certification required
