 Position Overview

The QHSE Officer will play a central role in ensuring full compliance with company QHSE policies, client requirements, UAE regulatory and municipality standards, HACCP, ISO 22000, and all other applicable international safety and quality frameworks. This is a hands-on, operational role that requires you to be present on-site conducting inspections, monitoring Critical Control Points (CCPs), investigating incidents, delivering training, maintaining comprehensive QHSE documentation, and preparing detailed management reports — all while actively promoting a positive safety and food safety culture across every business unit.

 Key Responsibilities

QHSE Compliance & Regulatory Standards

  • Ensure full compliance with company QHSE policies, client requirements, UAE municipality regulations, and all applicable ISO standards including ISO 22000 and HACCP
  • Stay current with evolving UAE food safety regulations and HSE legislation — proactively updating procedures to maintain ongoing compliance
  • Support all client inspections, external regulatory audits, and authority visits with complete documentation readiness and operational preparedness

Site Inspections, Audits & Risk Assessments

  • Conduct scheduled and unannounced site inspections, food safety inspections, hygiene audits, and comprehensive QHSE audits across all operational locations
  • Perform detailed risk assessments to identify workplace and food safety hazards and ensure safe working practices are consistently maintained
  • Document all audit findings with clear evidence, corrective action recommendations, and verification timelines

CCP Monitoring & Food Safety Procedures

  • Monitor all Critical Control Points (CCPs) including cooking temperatures, hot holding, chilling, freezing, food transportation, and all associated temperature records
  • Ensure proper food storage, correct labelling, strict FIFO/FEFO implementation, allergen control, segregation protocols, cleaning schedules, pest control, and personal hygiene practices across all food handling areas
  • Oversee microbiological testing, traceability exercises, and food recall activities in line with UAE food safety authority requirements

Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions

  • Investigate all incidents, accidents, near misses, food safety complaints, contamination cases, and non-conformities with thoroughness and objectivity
  • Develop, implement, and verify effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) ensuring full closure of all findings within agreed timeframes
  • Maintain PPE monitoring systems and ensure safety equipment availability, inspection records, and compliance across all operational sites

Training, Inductions & Safety Culture

  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, food safety training sessions, QHSE awareness programs, and competency verification for all employees and food handlers
  • Participate in emergency response drills and support business continuity planning and preparedness initiatives
  • Actively promote a positive, proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset across all business units and departments

Documentation, Reporting & Environmental Compliance

  • Maintain comprehensive QHSE documentation including records, permits, checklists, compliance reports, and audit evidence to the highest standard of accuracy and traceability
  • Prepare monthly QHSE reports, performance statistics, and KPI analysis for senior management review and strategic decision-making
  • Assist in developing and updating QHSE policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and management system documents
  • Ensure environmental sustainability practices and waste management procedures are strictly followed across all sites

 Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Food Science, or a closely related field
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or additional QHSE certifications are a professional advantage

Certifications

  • NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) certification — strongly preferred
  • IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) certification — strongly preferred
  • HACCP certification and food safety management qualifications are a significant advantage for this role

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on QHSE experience in Catering, Facilities Management, Hospitality, or closely related UAE-based industries
  • Strong working knowledge of UAE QHSE regulations, municipality requirements, and applicable ISO standards including ISO 22000
  • Demonstrated experience conducting audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and delivering safety training in a multi-site operational environment
