Position Overview
The Quality Inspector at Almarai’s Al Kharj facility plays a critical role within the Site Quality department — implementing the Quality Control function to ensure that Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) are consistently maintained across all testing activities. You will deliver timely and accurate test results that form the scientific and regulatory basis for accepting, releasing, or rejecting raw materials, in-process samples, and finished food products for both internal and external customers. With expertise in ISO/IEC 17025:2017, analytical method validation, and food safety regulatory requirements, you will protect Almarai’s product integrity, consumer safety, and world-class quality standards across every batch and every test.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Control Laboratory Implementation
- Effectively implement the Quality Control function of the Site Quality department in full alignment with Almarai’s standards and regulatory requirements
- Ensure Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) are consistently adhered to across all testing activities, instrumentation, and documentation processes
- Deliver timely and accurate test results that serve as the scientific basis for accept, release, or reject decisions for raw materials and finished products
- Maintain rigorous laboratory quality management systems in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements at all times
Raw Material, In-Process & Finished Product Testing
- Conduct testing and inspection of incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and finished food products against approved specifications
- Apply accurate sample preparation techniques and maintain instrument performance monitoring to ensure the reliability of all test results
- Support the investigation of out-of-specification results and non-conforming products with thorough root cause analysis and documentation
- Ensure all test results and laboratory records are documented accurately, completely, and promptly in the laboratory management system
Analytical Method Validation & Quality Control Practices
- Apply a strong working understanding of analytical method validation, verification, and quality control practices to all laboratory testing activities
- Monitor instrument performance, calibration schedules, and maintenance records — escalating any deviations that could impact result reliability
- Support the implementation and maintenance of analytical methods that align with current food regulatory requirements and international standards
- Contribute to internal laboratory audits and external accreditation assessments with complete, well-organised testing records and evidence
Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date familiarity with food safety and regulatory requirements related to chemical contaminants, residues, and microbiological limits
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply fully with applicable Saudi food safety regulations, GCC standards, and Almarai internal quality policies
- Support the quality department in responding to regulatory inquiries, product complaints, and compliance-related investigations promptly
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers regarding test results, quality outcomes, and compliance status
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, or another relevant scientific discipline — essential for this laboratory quality role
- Additional certifications in food safety, laboratory quality management, or ISO/IEC 17025 auditing are a strong professional advantage
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of directly relevant experience working in a food testing laboratory environment in a quality control or analytical role
- Working knowledge and practical application of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements and laboratory quality management systems
- Demonstrated understanding of analytical method validation, method verification, and quality control practices in a food or analytical laboratory setting
- Practical knowledge of sample preparation techniques and hands-on experience with instrument performance monitoring and calibration
- Familiarity with food safety and regulatory requirements related to contaminants, pesticide residues, and microbiological standards applicable in the GCC
Essential Skills
- English language fluency — both written and spoken — required for reading technical standards, communicating results, and preparing laboratory reports
- Strong attention to detail with an unwavering commitment to the accuracy and reliability of every test result produced
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under production timelines without compromising laboratory quality standards
- Good communication skills to liaise professionally with internal production teams, quality management, and external regulatory contacts
