Position Overview
The Regulatory Specialist I provides regulatory support for ChampionX products and operations throughout the Middle East region and Europe, monitoring and interpreting regional chemical regulations and communicating compliance requirements to internal stakeholders. This role supports product registrations, notifications, exemptions, and regulatory submissions, prepares and maintains regulatory documentation including Safety Data Sheets and product classifications, and evaluates the regulatory impact of product, raw material, and formulation changes.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Support & Compliance
- Provide regulatory support for ChampionX products and operations throughout the Middle East region and Europe
- Monitor and interpret regional chemical regulations and communicate compliance requirements to internal stakeholders
- Support product registrations, notifications, exemptions, and regulatory submissions as required by local authorities
Documentation & Customer Support
- Prepare and maintain regulatory documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), product classifications, labels, and compliance declarations
- Respond to customer requests regarding product regulatory status, chemical inventories, and compliance requirements
- Assist with maintaining regulatory information within SAP and other business systems, ensuring data accuracy
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Impact Assessment
- Partner with Supply Chain, Technical Services, R&D, and Commercial teams to support business objectives while ensuring regulatory compliance
- Evaluate the regulatory impact of product, raw material, and formulation changes
- Support hazard communication activities in accordance with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and local regulatory requirements
Continuous Improvement & Regulatory Monitoring
- Participate in regulatory projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to data quality and compliance processes
- Stay current on emerging regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on ChampionX products and business activities
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Biological Sciences, or a related scientific discipline
Experience Requirements
- 5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, Product Stewardship, Chemical Compliance, or Hazard Communication within the chemical industry
- Experience supporting product registrations, compliance reviews, or regulatory documentation
- Preferred: experience supporting regulatory compliance within the Middle East region
Essential Skills
- Working knowledge of global chemical regulations and hazard communication requirements
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret technical and regulatory documents and translate requirements into practical business guidance
- Preferred: familiarity with REACH, TSCA, AICIS, UK REACH, and other chemical inventory schemes
- Preferred: experience with SAP or regulatory data management systems
