You will oversee the day-to-day execution of road construction, utility installation, drainage works, concrete operations, and associated civil scope — ensuring all works are delivered in strict accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, QA/QC standards, and Dubai Municipality and RTA regulatory requirements. Working alongside project engineers, site managers, subcontractors, and consultants, you will be an active, hands-on technical presence on site — solving problems, maintaining schedule, enforcing quality, and ensuring HSE compliance across your designated work fronts. ZFK’s portfolio of landmark Dubai and Abu Dhabi infrastructure projects — including Sheikh Zayed Road upgrades, Dubai Hills civil works, and Emaar Beachfront drainage — provides a technically varied and professionally rewarding environment for experienced UAE roads and civil site engineers.
Why This ZFK Site Engineer Roads Role in Dubai Is the Right Civil Engineering Career Move in 2026: Site Engineers with UAE road construction, utility works, drainage, and civil infrastructure experience — and a working knowledge of RTA, Dubai Municipality, and ADOT specifications — are in consistent, strong demand across Dubai’s continuously expanding road network and urban development programs. ZFK Premium Contracting’s track record on major Dubai infrastructure programs including Sheikh Zayed Road, Emaar Beachfront, and Dubai Hills makes this one of the most credentialing road construction site engineering opportunities available to UAE-experienced civil engineers in 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Road Construction Supervision & Site Execution
- Supervise and coordinate the execution of road construction activities across ZFK’s active Dubai project sites — providing hands-on technical direction for subgrade preparation, sub-base and base course installation, asphalt paving, kerbing, line marking, and road furniture installation in strict accordance with RTA and Dubai Municipality specifications
- Monitor daily road construction progress against the approved program — identifying schedule risks early, coordinating corrective actions with the site manager, and ensuring that all road construction activities maintain momentum toward project milestones and handover dates
- Interpret and apply approved construction drawings, road design specifications, method statements, and traffic management plans — ensuring that every element of road construction is built to the correct geometry, levels, gradients, and material specifications before advancing to subsequent work phases
- Coordinate with surveyors to verify set-out accuracy, road levels, cross-fall gradients, and horizontal alignment against the approved design — ensuring that all road construction meets the geometric precision standards required for RTA or Dubai Municipality inspection approval
Utility Works, Drainage & Civil Infrastructure
- Supervise the installation of utility infrastructure — including water mains, sewer systems, stormwater drainage, electrical ducting, telecom conduits, and associated chambers and manholes — coordinating with authority representatives and ensuring all utility works comply with the relevant Dubai and Abu Dhabi authority specifications and approved shop drawings
- Oversee drainage construction activities — including stormwater culverts, catch basins, channel lining, inlet structures, and outfall connections — ensuring drainage works are correctly graded, watertight, and structurally sound before backfilling and road reinstatement above
- Manage road reinstatement over excavated utility corridors — coordinating compaction testing, layer-by-layer inspection, and surface finish quality to ensure reinstated road sections are structurally equivalent to undisturbed areas and pass all relevant authority acceptance testing
- Coordinate multi-utility interface management — ensuring that water, sewer, electrical, and telecom utility installations are sequenced correctly to avoid conflicts, damage, and costly rework during the progressive construction of utility corridors beneath road surfaces
Concrete Works, Riprap & Structural Scope
- Supervise concrete construction activities — including kerbs, channels, retaining walls, culvert structures, bridge abutments, and slabs — ensuring concrete mix design compliance, pour sequencing, formwork and reinforcement inspections, curing practices, and surface finish standards are maintained throughout all concrete works
- Oversee riprap and concrete protection works — including bank protection, slope stabilization, and channel lining — ensuring that all protection works are installed to the correct grades, extents, and material specifications required for both structural performance and regulatory approval
- Coordinate MSE wall and gabion wall construction — managing geosynthetic material placement, block or panel installation, and compaction of retained fill in accordance with the approved design and manufacturer guidelines to ensure structural integrity and long-term performance
QA/QC, Documentation & Authority Coordination
- Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures across all road and civil construction activities — conducting systematic inspections at key work stages, raising inspection requests with consultants and authority representatives, and ensuring all quality records are accurately completed and filed in the project quality management system
- Prepare and maintain accurate site records — including daily progress reports, inspection and test records, material delivery records, as-built markup drawings, and site instruction logs — ensuring complete, audit-ready construction documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate road and civil works inspections with RTA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Etisalat, and other relevant Dubai authorities — preparing the site, documentation, and test results required to pass all stages of authority inspection and obtain statutory approvals
- Manage material testing programs — coordinating soil compaction tests, concrete cube tests, bituminous material testing, and other geotechnical and materials tests required to demonstrate compliance with project specifications before layers are covered or works are signed off
HSE Compliance & Safe Working Practice
- Enforce ZFK’s HSE standards and site safety plan across all road and civil construction activities — ensuring that all workers, subcontractors, and visitors on your work front comply with personal protective equipment requirements, safe system of work procedures, and site-specific risk controls
- Implement and monitor traffic management plans for live road construction environments — ensuring that vehicle and pedestrian safety arrangements are correctly installed, maintained, and monitored at all times during works on or adjacent to active traffic carriageways
- Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly and accurately — contributing to ZFK’s proactive safety culture and supporting continuous improvement in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of construction site safety risks
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline — the engineering foundation required to supervise technically complex road and civil infrastructure construction in Dubai’s demanding regulatory environment
Experience Requirements
- 3–7 years of relevant site engineering experience on road construction, civil infrastructure, utility works, or drainage projects — with direct, hands-on supervisory responsibility for construction activities on active UAE project sites
- Proven UAE site engineering experience — familiarity with RTA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and Abu Dhabi authority construction specifications, inspection processes, and approval workflows is strongly preferred
- Valid UAE driving license — required for movement between site locations and coordination meetings across ZFK’s active Dubai and Abu Dhabi project sites
Technical Skills
- Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings, road design drawings, utility layout plans, drainage schematics, and method statements — applying this understanding to supervise work and verify compliance on site
- Working knowledge of QA/QC inspection and testing procedures for road construction — including compaction testing, concrete mix verification, asphalt layer inspection, and authority inspection request preparation
- Familiarity with HSE requirements for live road and civil construction environments — particularly traffic management, excavation safety, and confined space protocols relevant to utility works
