Position Overview
This Supply Chain Assistant role at Dawn Foods in Darmstadt is a dynamic, cross-functional logistics position at the heart of the company’s European supply chain network. You will coordinate domestic and international shipments with external logistics partners, serve as the central contact for all logistics-related inquiries, handle complaints and returns via SAP, prepare export and Intrastat declarations, review and process logistics invoices, organize pick-up orders, issue long-term supplier declarations, and prepare monthly operational reports. This one-year fixed-term position — with possibility of extension — offers genuine exposure to international supply chain improvement projects across Dawn Foods’ European affiliates.

Key Responsibilities
Transport Coordination & Logistics Operations
- Coordinate domestic and international transportation in close cooperation with external logistics service providers
- Act as the central point of contact for all logistics-related topics across internal teams and external partners
- Organize pick-up orders efficiently and issue long-term supplier declarations as operationally required
- Ensure customers across European markets receive smooth, reliable, and timely logistics service at all times
SAP Operations, Complaints & Invoice Management
- Handle complaints and returns professionally, clarifying all issues within SAP and initiating improvement measures
- Review, verify, and process invoices from logistics service providers accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain precise and up-to-date records across all supply chain transactions within the SAP ERP system
- Regularly prepare operational reports including the monthly scrap report and other performance tracking documents
Customs, Export Declarations & Compliance
- Prepare export declarations and serve as the primary contact person for all customs and compliance matters
- Manage Intrastat reporting accurately and on schedule in full compliance with European regulatory requirements
- Ensure all international transport documentation meets German and EU customs compliance standards at all times
- Support continuous improvement of customs and export processes for greater operational efficiency and accuracy
International Projects & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Participate actively in international supply chain improvement projects across Dawn Foods’ European affiliate network
- Collaborate closely with internal departments and European Dawn Foods companies to ensure seamless logistics operations
- Apply a structured, service-oriented work style to handle multiple priorities calmly and effectively under pressure
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, logistics partners, and European supply chain teams
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Completed commercial vocational training or a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
- Additional qualifications in international trade, customs management, or freight forwarding are a distinct advantage
Experience Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience in supply chain or logistics — ideally within the food or FMCG industry
- Solid practical knowledge of SAP logistics modules and confident use of MS Office for daily supply chain operations
